I'm going to assume here that you all know how mammalian reproduction works. Basically, when any animal "does it" fertilization of a female egg by countless male sperm takes place in a fluid environment. Now imagine any self contained fluid environment being spun furiously at 1000mph (the assumed rotational speed of the round earth). How would the sperm of any mammal find its way? It would be like a fishing boat in the middle of a hurricane, it would never "make port" in those conditions. Any contained fluid environment would constantly be churned and agitated by both the motion of the earth's spin, and its movement through space. [i]Here's a simple experiment (dont do it as it is cruel): fill up a pickle jar with water and add a few gold fish. Spin it and slide it along the counter: how well do the fish swim?
