Edit: I hate red bar gods as well, so maybe SBMM is not the answer. What I'd like to see is games that are against people as good or better than me, but not players with mechanical thumbs, and Inhuman enhanced awareness and reflexes. I love games and try hard, but am unfortunately a mere mortal.
Trials should be competitive. Win based match making is not competitive.
Definition of competitive: as good as or better than others of a comparable nature.
Example: This Monday the NFL will start playing against high school football teams!
How is that competitive? It's not. So, why is consistently putting a team of 1300 elo's against 2000+ elo's competitive? It's not.
If not SBMM, then make it tiered with different light level caps on rewards or something. Trails is so fun, and I just want it to be better.
Edit: Great point made in comments. The current state of trials definitely seems to "encourage" carriers. How is this a good thing? It's not.
Edit 2: Some people think trials shouldn't be competitive and instead reward the strong and punish the weak... OP opinion: Not sure why both of those can't exist.
Edit 3: SBMM would greatly reduce or eliminate "guaranteed flawless runs", as pointed out in comments.
Edit 4: maybe SBMM wouldn't be the best approach, sooooo... What about tiered cards? Or... Anyone with ideas weigh in.
TL;DR;
It's not.

6 RespuestasMy fireteam (which consists of myself, my Son 13 and my daughter, 10) play for the bounty drops as we have no chance of winning. We're mainly connon fodder and lucky to get a kill! I've noticed there's usually 1 player on the opposing team with the vast majority of kills. Carrier? We get teabagged and danced on as though they think done something impressive by beating us! Pathetic really imho. TLDR - I wouldn't mind SBMM in Trials if it made it more fun and competitive.

2 Respuestaslol It's not supposed to be easy. I'm not even that good and have carried people quite a few times (single carrying, shoutout to Twitch.TV/Jscubby for helping me carry) Play rumble for 1 hour a day lol. You'll start getting better and winning your 1's

2 RespuestasNo trials doesn't need SBMM because it already has it. You know, you get matched with people that have the same amount of win on their cards. Putting SBMM on top of that is just pointless/too much. Moreover, why do you think carries are such a bad thing? I don't support it myself but I'm sure as hell not seeking to remove it. It's a great way for streamers to get bigger. Do you really want to stop that?

Heres a truly out of the box approach. Solves a couple problems. But to receive 1 must also give... Sbmm. The catch is...you enter trials solo. Youre then paired with 2 ppl within your range vs 3 others randomly paired in the same range. Thats your team for the card. This way 2 incredibles cant piggyback a .3 in to carry. Youre playing ppl of your caliber or slightly better and bungie can finally get ppl to use their fireteam chat function Probably not a popular angle but ill be damned if it wouldnt completely shake shit up

Need 1 for Trials. No Mic Needed. Plan on going flawless for a 3rd time. So, be on your game. Message: LastLegend PhD for invite

5 RespuestasSimple solution. Tiered system, As you go flawless in lower tiers you move up into higher tiers, rewards get better and better, ie glimmer, gear. Chances at exotics. Etc. Maybe top tier be a guaranteed exotic. Each tier gets an emblem. Progressing through tiers grants better rewards at each flawless. Also SBMM, and each fireteam members rewards are based on their rank/tier.

2 RespuestasTrials league, the more flawless run you get the higher standard the opposition. Gives noobs a much better chance and as people improve they'll start getting harder and harder.
-
Trials should be primary weapons only. No sniper scrubs going for easy kills.
-
If would be great to go flawless but u know those lovely 9-0 so desperate to go the lighthouse players who kicks everyone on your team are always there# trials cheaters
-
8 RespuestasIf it was SBMM, you let a guy with 800 elo to host a lobby, you only play against bounty runners... profit??? Easiest carrying ever.
-
-
There is no incentive for SBMM until there is an in game ranking system, which there should be.
-
The idea of getting better at the game is better then knowing your only getting kills on even worse players. Last night had 3 easy teams then out of no where Balaam. Keeps you on your toes.
-
2 RespuestasIt's pretty competitive for me. Always running into better teams makes you try a lot harder

1 RespuestaThe new Iron Banner in September will be SBMM competitive.

2 RespuestasEditado por Zoey: 7/3/2016 9:12:04 PMDestiny is not a competitive game at its core. SBMM does not belong anywhere here for that reason and also for the reason this game has no dedicated servers. SBMM has ruined the rest of Crucible and is largely why I quit, Trials is the last fun game-mode and even that is boring as f**k thanks to all the nerfs (these being other reason I quit). Win based matchmaking is a decent enough substitute due to also matching on connection, SBMM ruins connections at higher levels and makes matches unplayable. At 5-0 on the card you start getting matched with people with the same amount of wins, going up to 9-0, if you can't beat the teams at 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9 wins then you aren't good enough to go to the lighthouse, deal with it and stop asking for the game to be made easier.

8 RespuestasTrials shouldn't be competitive. It should reward the skilled and punish the weak. Vanilla crucible should be competitive.
-
Yeah no please don't encourage them to make the game more laggy.
-
No it's ruined the rest of the game so it should leave trials alone

1 RespuestaLord knows what might happen with connections

4 RespuestasYessss. Make it even easier for me.

I completely agree

1 RespuestaIt's based on wins but is we what your saying

3 RespuestasThat's why it's so easy for people to carry, because it's all random.
