Why not leave matchmaking normal and add ranked and social playlists? Would offer paths for everyone

Derek: @ImYourAries "social" really means "You Will Get Destroyed, You Filthy Casual", which makes people quit
So... no dice on Ranked matches. Keep on defending this absolutely f***tarded design decision of SBMM while the PvP population continues to dwindle on account of it.
To Derek, directly: If "social" meant casual players would be getting smashed without your SBMM coddling them and protecting them against all those scary fireteams, wouldn't Ranked Match playlists keep them in their Training Wheels bracket where they could fight their own skill tier anyway? Your logic sucks almost as bad as your design choices on this matter. 2 RespuestasEditado por JHarv: 7/4/2016 6:17:32 PMLook at my hours put into destiny pvp Look at my recently played pvp hours This is telling enough. I only play Destiny for raids and pve activities now. Thats not even a criticism or argument. I'm simply not having fun anymore with pvp, so I don't do it. Im sure there are many in the same boat as me. Yet they seem to be in favor of their current system?

3 RespuestasEditado por ScottEggert: 7/4/2016 8:45:03 PMwell you all know that in a month this inter argument will be a moot point right? With ATT, Comcast, TimeWarner and all the other internet providers going to a Max Data plan system Once the first $300 to $600 dollar cable bills show up in August PvP will die as peoples Max Data Plans overage charges are aplyed for going over your Data Limits. P.S. No one is automatically given the Unlimited Data Planes it a FCC reg as far as I can tell you have to upgrade first

4 RespuestasOkay, I'ma explains this for you. If you have ranked and unranked, all but the very best players move to ranked. Here's why: - Assume unranked starts off with the same skill distribution as the playerbase has. Assume players want to win, and prefer playlists where they win more. - Consider the bottom 50% of players. Their choice is between unranked, where they'll face average players, or ranked, where they're guaranteed to face below-average players. If they're not stupid, they'll pick ranked from the get-go and never look back. If they are stupid, they'll still learn eventually that they get their ass kicked in one playlist and not the other. - Once the dust settles, unranked contains almost no players whose skill is in the bottom 50% - Consider the 50%-75% players. Their choice is between unranked, where they'll face players whose skill is the average of the top 50% of the playerbase, or ranked, where they're guaranteed to face players with the same skill. These players leave too. - This cycle continues until unranked contains only the most-skilled players, and everyone else avoids it.

7 RespuestasEditado por Dielan Wet: 7/5/2016 12:26:05 PMI'd rather have Custom Games so I can play with my lesser skilled friends and teach then a few tricks so they can get better. I always get asked how I play so well and keep my shot on target. And I just tell them "Octagon" against a better player until you out br them a few times.

3 RespuestasPlayed PVP today. Solo. I only play teams that are sweaty. Nothing but Mida, hawksaw, doctrine. I got a good roll on a Shadow Price and can't use it because it can't compete

1 RespuestaI've played since the beginning but have taken the game out of the consul for a couple of weeks now. My PVP stats are not good at all but I often wonder how good they could be . I would prefer dedicated servers like everyone and connection based match making. Reason being is every time I began to do well, they place me in a lobby with better players, which I don't mind, but they are always from the other half of the world. Red bars are bouncing all over smashing me back to the lower groups. I don't mind playing against better players. I would do it all day long as long as it was a fair fight and not someone's K/D ratio that has been manipulated by game lag. I've only played as a lone wolf since the beginning. I would love to see some of these K/D gods play as a single player for a month or two without a support team and see what their stats are after that time period. I may return .

27 RespuestasTo OP, directly: Why are you asking for ranked matches, and decrying SBMM, when the two are exactly the same thing?
-
1 RespuestaKeep reading his twits. He goes on to explain that party size isn't factored into the matchmaking system. Meaning the game doesn't actually actively try to match larger fire teams against one another despite what we were specifically told on Y1. That's the largest ducking problem with Destiny's pvp and no one is talking about his open admission. Unranked playlists really wouldn't be a constant pub stomp if teams of six thugs could only match other large pre formed teams, which, by his own admission, would likely be other teams of 6 looking for pub stomps. Smh.

So Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and so on are really known as "You will get destroyed, you filthy casual" media...

1 RespuestaBungie has this insane logic that everybody should be: -1.0KDR -Have a 50% W/L

21 RespuestasSo let me get this straight Luke Smith says he wants TTK to be so good, people "throw their money at the screen for it" and everybody wants him dead. But this piece of shit openly mocks the community and claims his BEYOND -blam!-ing awful MP system isn't broken and unenjoyable, and people actually defend him? The -blam!-?

1 RespuestaThere are some brilliant minds working at Bungie, that guy isn't one of them.

13 RespuestasLol the Bungie crew have to be the laziest people on earth. Excuse after excuse for not implementing even the basic of game functions.

From what I've seen, Derek Carroll seems to be a bitch.

2 RespuestasDerek is an arrogant twat and is terrible at his own game. Laggy SBMM needs to go. What a joke.

12 RespuestasEditado por chum: 7/4/2016 6:13:17 PMI don't understand why Bungie keeps neglecting the fact that if you are bad at the game, you lose, and if you are good, you win. It's absolute bullshit how they don't ever change no matter what everyone wants

Editado por StevenMcBurn: 7/4/2016 2:18:52 PMWhen I came back after a few months of not playing my PS4 every single loadout in every single game-mode for me was the following. MIDA/Universal Remote/Hawksaw 1000 YS/Longbow/LDR G+H rockets On either Sunsinger, Striker, or the void hunter that I can't remember the name of the class right now. I'm so glad that I never tried to get into that meta. Those matches were so infuriatingly boring; either getting shoulder charged/shotgunned at every corner of the map, sniped down some crazy long corridor, or killed in less time than you can react to by some ridiculously ranged pulse rifle/scout rifle. Now I see almost one of every subclass in my matches, a variety of guns, and I don't have to take it seriously to score in the top 2 or 3 of my team. I don't have to sit on the edge of my seat and focus on nothing but the game in order to get back at some kid that's been sitting in 1 spot hardscoping for a solid 5 minutes to get 3 kills. That shit gets so dull so fast. I miss when everyone used suros, at least the game took gun skill back then. But I'll keep dropping my win% until I get below 50% and can casually PvP instead of watching meta-hounds not realize they're the only person in a game trying that hard. That's the closest I'll get to release PvP. If they had a ranked ladder and people weren't just statwhoring, then maybe I'd try that hard. But there is no ladder. No one is looking you up. I don't get why having 50% of your kills come from special weapons and 35% come from abilities is bragging rights to these dudes.

7 RespuestasEditado por REVIVE PHARMER: 7/4/2016 4:31:12 AMI agree with Derek's view of this. There are way too many MLG wannabes that think it's funny to jump into regular crucible to 'pub stomp'. That shouldn't even be an option. All you stat padding, ELO cuddling, stat whores can play against each other all you want, leave the rest of us out of ur bullshit.
-
The algorithm of matchmaking will never matter as long as there is so much lag, so many hit detection problems and so many wtf moments.
