He makes a deal with gods to become immortal, because he wants to destroy the traveler out of revenge for the traveler causing the destruction of his home, but is practically forced to conquer, destroy, and take in order to stay alive and hunt the thing that destroyed his home.

It's hard to feel for someone who continued down a certain path, even though they were warned that if they continued down that path they would ultimately cause the death of billions.
-
Not to mention his bloated corpsified body floating around in the metallic hydrogen down on Saturn.... I cri
-
And on top of that, we killed his son.

So I decided to read the book of sorrow on Google... 40 pages later. That shit has more story than the entire gameplay of destiny so far.

I only feel sorta sympathetic, comsidering it's a game character, however, I'd like to meet Taox(If that bitch is still alive at least) and slaughter her because she inadvertently started all that bull with the hive attacking us, and, technically the arrival of the traveler in our solar system, and with the Eliksni being almost wiped out. I'll just stop before this becomes a long list.

2 RespuestasThe sad thing is, he/she knew he was going to die. In one of the cards says What would happen if all my shades are eradicated and something like that, knowing that would cut his power resource making vulnerable.

1 RespuestaA sad story? Maybe. A tragic story? Sure. But it's not a sympathetic one by any stretch. Because at the end of the day, those three sisters made a conscious choice to become what they are today.

4 RespuestasWe killed his son.... What would any good father do to the people who killed his son
-
1 RespuestaThat's why we murder his ass, see were the good guys here. Flying space zombies fighting to protect the traveler for little to no reason sept it's dead. (Litterally most of this game is about the city not the traveler)
-
2 RespuestasHeh. Maybe it's best not to sympathise with a being that committed what was pretty much the mass genocide of the awoken.
-
2 RespuestasUm yeah, it is the book of sorrows

14 RespuestasCan someone explain why he went through the sex change
-
the whole story in destiny is sad indeed , sad in terms or being shallow and not explaining anything or nothing interesting going on , characters are boring too

7 RespuestasEditado por Vladeon: 7/5/2016 1:02:36 PMYeah, but he got a free sex change so he's got that going for him.
Auryx was a girl and now Oryx is a guy. Not sure when the sex change happened.
What would happen if they had won, don't they always need to find new places to drain the light from to feed their worms, if there was nothing left wouldn't they all starve

He (she) kinda achieved what he knew was gonna happen. He always said the way of sword logic and love and war was to conquer. Make war. Eradicate species, wipe them out if they were not the strongest to survive. To him and his sisters, this was a kind of "purification" of the universe. Getting it to it's "perfect" form or whatever. Oryx hinself knew that if he lived, this would be achieved and he would reign. If he was conquered, it would be because he was not strong enough, and because he deserved to fall at the hands of more powerful, more pure beings. The latter happened. Though, given what Eris and the Queen said in the cutscenes at the beginning and end of the story, to me it seems like our whole little heroic endeavor of killing the Taken King was orchestrated that way by someone else we don't know about. Possibly one of his sisters. After all the way they show love is by killing each other. Which kinda leaves that lore story wide open for future hive content. But for now, -blam!- hive expansions. I'm kinda over Crota's family tree for a while. I'm kinda glad for RoI being Fallen SIVA. Still can't wait for cabal.

1 RespuestaIts the story of Faustus. Its the classic story of selling-your-soul to Evil/The Devil (Mephistopholes) in return for power. The deal never turns out like you think it will. The power comes at a high cost of suffering to both yourself and others....and it always ends badly. Its why Yoda (in The Empire Strikes Back) responded to Luke's question about the relative power of the Dark Side versus the Light Side of the Force. "No (the Dark Side is not more powerful). Easier. Quicker. More seductive." That's the lure of evil. It always promises to be a fast, easy solution to your problems. But in the end, it just causes more-and-bigger problems in the long term. Where as doing Good seems harder...takes longer....but in the end tends to find more enduring solutions. The Hive sold themselves to the Darkness in return for power...and now they are little more than a horde of locust. Destroying everything in their path...and are hated and feared everywhere they go. ...and people eventually destroy this that demand their hatred and fear.
-
I'd say he had a good run even though all the talk about him being all powerful didn't do much for him, but technically his story is still going with the Touch Of Malice being made from a part of him. (Probably his Worm.)
-
Aurash was a completely different being from oryx, even the vex demonstrated that, so feel pity about oryx is doubtful, feel pity for aurash maybe
-
He came looking for the guardians, and he got them
he wasn't ready for them though
I can understand wanting revenge, but I can't feel sad for someone who picks on a bull and then gets the horns. When the Hive decided to mess with our moon, all bets were off.

1 RespuestaWell he committed Mass genocide
-
2 RespuestasHe also lost a son, that is kinda sad as well
