Actually, I disagree. 3v3 is much easier and transparent to trends than 6v6, even though the majority of people play 6v6. This is because it's the likeliest chance for the validation of high kill-count; look at Mayhem Clash. Any stats from there would be meaningless because of the random nature of play: done it myself many times, see how many invisible kills running a Kvhostov and Vestian Dynasty I can get! That and the stats themselves say absolutely nothing at all about apparent power. 0.3 of a difference between the lowest and the highest, god I can get bigger between two consecutive games just because of the change of maps or that I'm working towards an objective or just messing about for 'fun' and can't be bothered to go through my entire loadout to make sure my T5 cooldown is now Strength for smoke and not Disc for grenades. I don't think Universal Remote and Party Crasher is that successful, or a very wise choice on Widows Court unless you camp the Church!! I wonder if the KD correlation has anything to do with use preference in the game overall... I would always chose a Hunter because of the, once apparent, mobility and characterisation. That and the lady ones look gorgeous! Warlocks because they are mysterious and intriguing; I had no idea and have no experience of either of these classes being OP in comparison to anything else.

  • I disagree with your disagreement. I used to love 3's but that got ruined with the sniping lane, head glitch, super camp Guardians that infest it now. I love 6's but it's best with my clan.

  • I respect your right to disagree with my disagreement...My post probably wasn't worded too well but what I meant was that, objectively, 3v3 provides the clearer picture because it can manifest things like map control, tactics, variance of loadout etc. and usually consists of more considered playstyles than 6v6 and is less prone to laggy outcomes because of CBMM in Trials. As far as me stating what is objectively the best game mode is, I'm not doing that, for me, the most 'fun' game mode is Mayhem Clash by a country mile but it is totally chaotic and unrepresentative of what is objectively stronger or weaker than one choice of gear, subclass or whatever than others because of the chaotic nature. That's all.

  • No sorry you worded your post great, I should have put "in my opinion" as I do know a lot of people like 3's and trials in particular. I agree with your assessment totally. My own clan which is definitively PvE do play Crucible but 6's only unless the Shaxx bounty states otherwise. Although we have sniper players in the clan they aren't at the skill of those who exist in Trials and we all hate the playstyle that evolved because of it. Don't get me wrong I am up for a challenge, but I play mainly for fun and 3's versus snipers invokes a weird tension fueled game where your tactics need to be at their best to deal with the opponent and evolve as the game goes on. Pretty much as you described with it being a more strategic setting. We prefer our strategy in 6's to just involves a hell of a lot of comms and synergy, such as zone/area defending and reinforcing, super management and priority switching. To each their own eh :)
