For those who said "no," why? If you own it on last gen, shouldn't it be free on next gen?

If you want a backwards compatible version of the xbox 360 game to play on xbox one, sure. It's a totally separate game world on separate servers. Not a single other game has ever done what you are suggesting, so why would bungie. They also would not only not be making money on this proposal, they would be losing it as no player would have any reason to even spend $1 on the game in the transfer. I know I said no other game has offered what you are suggesting, but I could be wrong.
-
The reason it can't be different is because of the licenses of each console generation.. Xbox 360 license is different from xbox one license.. No matter the account..
-
Of course. But if your account can transfer to both, why can't purchases?
-
Lol everyone is all freaking out but you only have to rebuy ttk. Probably only ROI once it drops.
-
I'm not overly worried for myself. I have both console generations and full games. But I do think about the other guys. That's a minimum or $70 if you have the next console. Seems like a bit much.
-
It's a full expansion that costs 30 bucks. Ttk is like 25 now.
-
Currently $30 on Xbox. But that's $30 you already paid for. So wouldn't it make sense to have access to it on both so long as it's the same price?
-
If ROI were already here, I'd say definitely, as that is how the purchase model has worked up until now. But until it does, I don't think it should change, as ttk is the most recent "version" of the game. Does it suck? Most definitely. But I can't be mad at bungie for pushing their product.
-
Because its a completely different game it sux but thems the breaks. Everyone that still plays on last gen knows its getting phased out.im suprised it was not cut from last gen at ttk
-
But it's not a completely different game. It's the same game. That we all paid for. So why full price for something you already had/have?
-
I paid for Final Fantasy 10 and The Last of Us on last gen consoles. I bought them again on PS4. I didn't get them free or cheaper. It's the same for Destiny.
-
But if you upgrade to the next generation of your brand of console, shouldn't you keep what you've already bought?
-
Editado por Shadowskill1275: 6/24/2016 4:27:54 AMYou can on the console u bought it for, difernt console different game.if its the same why cant i play with ppl on 360, because its not the same tahts why
-
I don't feel I'm entitled to keep my last gen games even if they have a current gen version of the same game. Like I said I bought Final Fantasy X and The Last of US on both PS3 and PS4. I wasn't entitled to get current gen version free. Sorry, but I have to disagree.
-
Of course you're not entitled. That would be up to the companies selling you the product. But if you're ok with buying it twice then they won't change anything. But if we disagree with their ways maybe they'll change the way they look at things. Think about it, we're already getting free DLC's on other games now.
-
Because its not on that system anymore there for different game
-
How is it a different game with the exact same content? It's literally the same game.
-
Its different coding, if it were the same than new gen could play with old gen right now. Remember when GTA came out and it took them a year after their initial release to come out on new gen? They had to put different coding in to work with the new gens.

I think it would be nice if they gave them a discount or some sorta deal. Not just a handout tho. I wonder if they made a new legendary edition with ROI and destiny and all dlc for $60 if that would encurage new people to make the change. Btw, don't lots of headsets that work on last gen work on current gen? I know my Astros did
-
I think it should be discounted, yes. But cheaper than $60, that sounds fair but it's still a bit much. Most people will have to buy all of it again. That's a minimum of $70 without tax. No, a lot of old gen headsets don't work on the next gen.
