But the stats are taken from 6v6 modes, it isn't a small sampling.
Just because (based on your skill level), the defender is generally good, lower down the skill spectrum, the defender suffers, as it's hard to do well with, especially for players with a below average skill set, doesn't stop them from trying.....

The opness of Defenders doesn't have much to do with skill level, any one can do it if they learn what to do and that's really what my point is. K/d by itself does not show the whole picture of how powerful a sub class is. You have to factor in total kills pre game, average score, number of kill sprees, time engaged, number of recoveries. All of those factored together show the ballance of player and character where as k/d by character doesn't really provide any more information than on average these characters are killing 21 characters for every 20 deaths. If you looked at a fuller break down you might find titans seam to be using there speed to rush into areas where they shouldn't be and hunters are sitting back with sniper rifles. you might also find that while hunters have a higher k/d warlocks on average score 1 more kill then hunters do or titans might be in the top 3 of the leader board more consistently then hunters. Now I don't know if any of those things are true but those stats are much more beneficial then k/d.
-
Defenders aren't over powered. I don't believe any class in game is over powered right now. Defenders have the worst kd in game, because people who use that class die more than they get kills, simple as that, just because one guy is almost god mode with no back up plans, doesn't mean they all are.... Just like the one dev team tester that was amazing with fusion rifles, they nerfed them way too much, because one guy was beastly with them.... Stats don't lie.
-
I feel like the numbers would be skewed a bit here. I feel like you see more hunters in PVP then Defender titans hands down. idk how the numbers came to be but I would like to see what the total number of defenders played used as the sample size then see what the hunters numbers look like. Would void walkers come up in then graph? would we see a more of the graph lines on the 1.0k mark. idk and I might be way off base.
-
Doesnt matter how many players were hunters or defenders or whatever. It's irrelevant to the kd stats. How can you not realise that?
-
It does effect the k/d number of matches effects the ability of a player to use the character to its potential, if a hunter has a high k/d but is played 4 X as much as another class that k/d comes from practice more than the class it's self.
-
You play more, you kill more, you die more, it's averages....
-
You play more you learn more you die less
-
Right, but that statement doesn't skew the kd stats as presented, it just compounds them....
-
It completely does. If hunters are played more on average they will have a high k/d and if that is the reason for the high k/d you have to figure out why they are played more in order to properly balance them.
-
Also it not true that volume of players has an effect on kd, because you play more, or there are more player getting kills, on the flip side, there are more player using that class that can and will die.... Again. Averages....
-
I guess it depends on whether k/d is the chicken or the egg. sure while a new influx of hunters will lower the k/d over time you will see that climb as they play and learn.
-
Or maybe they'll get worse, Maybe they won't get better or worse? A guess is a guess, stats are stats, facts, they don't lie....
-
Stats lie all of the time. You could find a guy who has gone to the light house 3 times a week, if you look at just that stat he sounds like a great trials player but then if you compare stats and get a broader picture you find that he has an average of 1 kill per game and gets carried by some friends. Looking at narrow stats is a well know form of deception all I have been trying to do is show you that. But for what ever reason your your universe seams to revolve around stats only having one viable conclusion.
-
I've looked at the tracking sites though, I've seen the stats, look for yourself, that graph is accurate, has been hunters on top in pvp for a long long time, the balancing was long overdue....
-
I have never said the graph was inaccurate only that I could be miss represented. My argument is not against the hunter nerf, it is against nerfing or buffing based on k/d alone. I really don't care about the June changes all I care about is how those changes are made and how that will effect the game going forward.

Editado por Mickey Padge: 6/24/2016 1:04:53 AMSo your saying that players played more as the two classes that got the most kills and had the best kd, and the stats show this, but it somehow doesn't compound the fact that they were nerfed for that very reason? Did you see the thread title and following comment?
-
No what I am saying is if you were provided with 2 side by side charts to might find that as hunter play time increased so did the k/d which means you need to find a way to encourage play time on other sub classes. But if hunter play time and k/d did not increase together and instead you saw a high k/d which lead to more play time then hunters needed a nerf. The point is comparing coralating stats over time does more than just looking at one set of stats.
-
So you're talking hypothetically based on stats or graphs we haven't seen? Bottom line, blade dancer and gunslinger have had a consistently higher kd average in this game. Look on the tracking sites, you can see this.... When they nerfed Sunbreakers way back when, there were other classes that had higher kd, we know who they were, hunters, gunslingers and blade dancers.....
-
Fair enough no need to be shity about it thats why I was making the statement so someone could explain maybem, but clearly I picked the wrong person.
-
No back up plans are not what make defender op, weapons of light plus high impact snipers are. If it wasn't for the fact that people feel body shot snipers are unfair and cheesy Defenders would have the highest kd of any sub class.
-
Yeah, those bubbles get popped fast.....
-
So why are defenders the worst kd in 6v6 then? Probably 3v3 too. Stats are a lie because?
