Hi OLD RockMan,
While some weapons are based on quests, the others are purely RNG. Sadly you cannot do anything to predict or change loot drops. Thanks!

I understand that, but when I turn in 3 exotic chest armor engrams in a row, I should not get 2 of the same items in a row. I have had that several times when turning in a dozen exotics from farming 3oC. Once with the titan, had 4 chest engrams, 2 in a row crest of alpha lupi. The 4th was another crest of alpha lupi but I used the warlock to try and get a warlock chest piece. DENIED!!! I just want it more random. It gets bad when I can predict what item I get. 70% chance of a crest of alpa lupi lmao. Atleast I get shards from them.
