Title. It's ridiculous how many times I've been killed while getting into cover, only to be shot through the wall. It's needs fixing, if that's even possible.

Latency.

I have a VERY good and stable connection. I have a sub par KD around .9 so i don't run into a ton of lag like better players might(SBMM?) but i have had this happen while everyone is green bar

1 RespuestaEditado por Animal Mother: 6/20/2016 9:22:40 PMWell, with the lag issues that everyone says is this problem, I then have to ask... Does that mean that I was actually being shot _._ seconds before it even registered on my screen?
seriously, sometimes I just die and it'll seem like I got one shot by anything (or everything)
Exodus blue the broken down cars camped there in the back its fun with the right weapon

2 RespuestasThe gurilla perk is stupid. I have never seen it work.
-
That's just lag. It'll sometimes look like you died after going into cover. If you're standing behind cover, then somebody starts shooting you through it, that'd be different. What you described is lag.
-
Some people call me a MIDA whore but that gives me a good insight on that topic. It is ridiculous how many times I kill people around corners with that thing
-
1 Respuesta20 tick rate...... oh wait. Wrong game lol
-
The lag is real.

Guerrilla fighter.

1 RespuestaIts a problem only really solvable by dedicated servers but you know its not like Activision isnt a multi billion dollar company and can easily provide those dedicated servers across their two major games, one of them almost replicating the success of modern warfare 2 and the sequel to it in 2017 will probably break records in the fps genre..oh wait.

2 RespuestasEditado por cuzzybubba1: 6/20/2016 1:07:16 PMIt's latency, you were actually shot and killed before going into cover.. gotta love lag! To be clear though, it's retarded an extremely frustrating to be glad you made it to cover and then show your dead.. I feel ya
-
you're probably lagging
-
This is what happens when matchmaking is skilled based instead of connection based.
-
It's connection issues. Cover does work. It's just by the time you use it, the bullet has already hit you when you were out in the open. Lag kicks in, making you think you didn't get hit, then you go into cover and die or take damage Then for some reason, people think the bullet goes the though walls and can curve.
-
It's lag pure and simple... On your enemy's screen you were still visible so the host allowed the shot to register. It's a problem that only seems to get worse as time goes on.
-
Only way to fix it is for bungie to fix their damn servers. Theyve been handing out soft bans for players with constant red bars but that doesnt fix the problems just makes it worse it seems. After they made that SBMM switch the servers went from ok at times to straight trash fast.

True man
-
In this game I hardly go into cover... Maybe thst is why my stats are so average in here Loool... Love thinking i am behind a wall then die as there weren't any wall at all... They see me, But I can't lol
-
True needs to be fixed
-
With dedicated servers. That is the only way to fix it.

1 RespuestaEditado por Codykins: 6/19/2016 5:51:32 PMAs I stated to someone else on this thread, the problem is, that this games networking ping runs at 1,000/MS Latency when literally nearly every other online-oriented game runs at 500/MS. That means there's a whole 1-Second Delay before data transfers between clients/consoles, even Halo Combat Evolved / PC ran at 500/MS, it's ridiculous. This is the primary cause for getting shot through walls. Throw Hitscan, Bad Connections, and P2P Connectivity into the mix, and it turns into the mess we have to deal with now.

I think I've discovered why this is worse in destiny over others. It appears to me that the game engine registers hits from animations, versus registering hits from observer patterns as or before animation finishes. Seems to me like from the shooter once the animation of the bullet hits a target, the defenders health then recognises it. Versus say call of duty when you knife someone you get the hit marker and the defender shows they died before the animation really gets going. Networking really makes it worse and I could be wrong, just seems like this could be an implementation problem that is being compounded by the poor p2p and networking implementation. -Gibbo The Great
yes I gave that name to myself lol.
-
Normally I'd say Armor piercing rounds, but they got nerfed hard back in the Omnigul glitch days. What you're experiencing is called latency. Either your tv needs it's settings corrected, or your internet lagged on you. I'd do both. Unplug the router, move it closer to the machine, and set your hd settings (like guitar hero)
-
1 RespuestaNothing to do with latency... there's a "hit box" and it's designed to follow your head and body slightly behind your movements. If you stand still, it's right on your head... if you are run, it extends and drags behind.
