The raid is 8 months old. It's time has past. There will probably something in place for the next dlc to help with this.
But for right now, the raid is old news. If you still need to run it, build teams and ask for emblem and how many times they have cleared it. Ask questions that only an experienced player would know the answer too.

My point is you NEVER had to do this before because someone with maxed out light clearly already knew the fundamentals because the only way you could get max light was by completing the raid in the first place.

There is no reason to even need the raid any more. It's dead space, they aren't going to change it. It was a crap boring raid, that people either quit running or left destiny over and this was 4-5 months ago.

My point exactly! Being able to reach max light without the raid ain't right. In my opinion.

The raid sucks and is old. Their is no reason to run it if you have been playing the game for several a while. All the good pve players either left destiny or are done with the boring crap raid. That leaves a few random solid noobs and people who couldn't beat it before, trying to beat it now. You can fix the players that still need to run it, thats not on bungie. We beat hard mode in the 306-312 range several months ago. Then we beat it for several months. The problem is there is a very small % of exp players running the raid. We have moved on. That can't be fixed by bungie. But you can try to find those people and start a clan or a small weekly raid group. Thats what we all did when it came out. They aren't going to change it now. It's old news.
