Nightingale

My husband and i have both been having this issue with the nightingale error message on two different playstations. we have gone through all of the troubleshooting and know it isnt a hardware issue as our other games work fine. we have been playing this game since release and i'm going to be very upset if i cannot continue playing. how do i fix this issue? i dont want to have to quit playing a game that i love so very much.

  • Nightingale is usually a corrupt cache issue but seeing as how you are having it on two consoles, I am guessing it is a combination of a corrupt cache as well as a not optimally configured network. Let's start with a month long questionaire to figure out how we can proceed: Also describe EXACTLY how your network (including the equipment) is configured and many of us will jump in to help: 1). What country are you in? 2). Who is your internet provider? 3). What type of service is it (cable, DSL, Fibre, broadband wireless)? 4). What are your providers "posted" speeds? 5). What are your ping and speed results when going to www.speedtest.net (please post the direct picture link provided by Ookla)? 6). What equipment are you using (modem - make/model, router - make/model, type/brand, etc)? 7). How exactly is your network set up? (distance from modem to router, router to console, consoles wireless or wired?) 8). How is your console connected to your internet (wired gigabit, wired 10/100, wired through electric home networking, wireless - what band width AC/N/G/B/A)? 9). When was the last time you hard rebooted your console (see explanation further down)? 10). When was the last time you hard rebooted ALL of your network equipment (modem, router, etc.)? 11). How many devices are simultaneously connecting to your internet and what are they (computer? laptop? tablets?)? 12) Are ANY of them running torrents or p2p networking file sharing? 13). Have you forwarded your ports as suggested by Bungie, assigned an IP specific IP address to your console and placed your console in the DMZ? 14). What is your uPnP setting on your router? 15). How far apart are your consoles? PERFORM A HARD REBOOT OF A CONSOLE (ALONG WITH HARD REBOOTING YOUR NETWORK): 1). Go up to your console while it is on, press hold power button for >20 seconds allowing console to power down continuing to hold for the entire >20 seconds even after it shuts down (do this to both consoles) 2). Unplug and leave unplugged for >2 minutes (both consoles) 3). Unplug your router first and then unplug your modem (power cords) 4). Go back to each console and while unplugged again hold down power button for >20 seconds (both consoles) 5). Plug modem back in, wait ~2 minutes for modem to fully sync with provider 6). Plug router back in, wait ~2 minutes for router to fully sync with modem 7). Go back to console one, plug in, restart 8). Go to Destiny and attempt to log onto Destiny (does it work?) 9). Go back to console two, plug in, restart 10). Go into Destiny and attempt to log onto Destiny (does it work?) 11). Report back findings.
