From what i got out of exotics when Destiny launched they were made to be a challenge to obtain and have a story behind them. When Destiny launched and acquiring the Exotics back then it gave me a sense of value. Meaning my effort was being rewarded....Not only that, but looking at exotics back then to now. Y2 left an empty feeling to where there is no interest in acquiring them.
Bungie literally made exotics pointless in this game by adding 3 of coins IMO. 3 of coins literally turned exotics into a race on seeing how many you can collect as fast as you can
Where is the sence of value and the challenge in that?
All Exotics should have either their own quest, missions, bounties or whatever to them with a story behind them. Giving them that sence of value and time well spent. Isn't that part of the concept on why exotics are in this game. Aren't they supposed to have a sense of value?
By taking them and making them weaker compared to y1 knowing almost every single exotic in y1 worked in every event across the board. Y2 if you call it that changed everything about them. Why bother adding any exotic to this game if they all are just going to be a hand out? Meaning it's way to easy to acquire them with 3 of coins. Leaving the gamers acquiring multiple exotics that are the same exotics way to many times and way to fast. By now i would think most gamers look at an exotic nonchalantly and say...oh, it's just another one of those and dismantle it.
Is that last statement the future for exotics?

1 RespuestaThe way we got exotics was cool the first few months destiny released, then later on it just irritated the hell out of me. I like 3 of coins. Getting rid of 3OC would be a step back

5 RespuestasI would like it if they made exotics ultra hard to get like you would have to do something like the black spindle mission solo or something.

2 RespuestasHaving exotics linked to quests sounds good. Only problem is once you obtain the exotics you want what else will there be to grind for? I know RNG is frustrating when you're seeking out that one exotic. But I believe it's there to keep people playing. I could be wrong though. I'm down to one last missing exotic that I have to rely on RNG. I'm missing the jade rabbit. I'm convinced that when it does finally drop it'll be from the rewards from an activity instead of an engram. Why? Because I rarely get primary engrams. And when I do they are repeats of exotics I've already obtained. It sucks that people were excluded for not having gally. I would have played with anybody with or without it. I did countless Crota and atheon runs way before I finally got the gally. I used hezens vengeance before getting hoc. I got my first gally right before HOW came out. And I never beat skolas in year 1 because everybody I knew was more into trials.

2 RespuestasEditado por Powermix24: 6/13/2016 7:35:25 PMCozmo , it's what made destiny what it is in year 1 , the 3oc ruined that feeling or that grind you did in vog/nightfall to get an exotic . It was fun , made me wanna do the raid over and over , by taking things away and adding 3oc , it's making you feel rewarded for 10 seconds then moving on . Vex , Thorn , Gally , Red death , Hard light , MIda all these exotics we wanted badly and we played and played until we finally got 1 or 2 but kept going to get the ones missing from our inventory and had fun doing it cause that feeling when it drops ......well it's gone Take 3oc out , people are going to grind exotic engrams and when rise of iron comes out people gonna have the best gear without even trying on sept 20th . Please make sure the Team fixes this way of playing it shortens the game tremendously and makes it toxic / not viable to collectors / or being rewarded.

32 RespuestasThanks for the feedback. There are definitely two groups of thought around 3OC. I have seen similar posts to yours, stating they liked the old way, as well as others who say that 3OC don't drop enough Exotics. We will continue to monitor the feedback around 3OC and consider everyone's suggestions for future changes.

3 RespuestasExotics? Lol what are those? You mean yellow legendaries

1 RespuestaXur should have a limited inventory on weapons, and a themed arrival. Like... shotgun theme. This should help you with Golgoroth theme. Solar Subclass theme. Maybe an exotic shader costing 10 Moldering Shards, 10 Strange Coins, 10 Motes?

2 Respuestas3 of coins is fine. Let's be honest the loot drop system in this game is a joke. In year one you had some people who had loads of exotics and some who were still trying to collect the year one exotics in year two. I like three of coins, if you feel as though it cheapens exotics then don't use them and try and get your exotics from Xur or the nightfall, but don't try and make that call for the rest of us!!!! I was lucky I bought my first Ghorn from xur the first time he sold it, but hawk moon, I didn't get one till just before taken king came out. The reward system is poor compared to other games, three of coins makes up for it. As for nerfing 3 of coins no it's been nerfed enough!!! Simple if you don't want to use them fine, but don't try and ruin it for the rest of us who use 3 of coins!!!!

1 RespuestaI can understand what you are saying. 3oC makes getting exotics too easy, but you have to take into account the drop rates for 3oC aren't that good to begin with. Yes, I have been fortunate enough to get those exotics I have been missing by using 3oC. I also had to spend a lot of time to do it. Also I freely admit I have once or twice used some drops as infusion fuel, but only round out my light level on one character.

2 RespuestasEditado por Diamond D Nice: 6/13/2016 9:55:23 PMi disagree in that, I'm not interested in the grind. I just want to get the gun and go shoot stuff. Playing and not getting rewards is not enjoyable. I don't do nightfalls, strikes or raids for that reason. Lots lot of energy and time for barely a drop. For me the fun is not "the chase for loot." The fun is playing the game or crucible with the gun. But if you make a game that is just a time suck endlessly grinding for loot personally, i simply stop playing, like i've done with most of the game. For me, and i get it's supposed to be a "loot" game but that is new for me. I'm not an mmo person so the actual game should be able to stand and have longevity after i've gotten the guns. As in nobody stops playing halo pvp because they can use all the guns. So for me that should be the goal. Don't make the guns impossible or uber hard to get. Make the game so good that you can give people guns and Like Halo (or pick your other shooters) they'll keep playing. as for 3 of coins. My beef is i'm about 30 armor piece drops for every one weapon drop and if it's a weapon it's always a heavy. I've got a vault full of heavy infusion fuel. I seen one primary exotic since april. Before april the droubt was similar.

1 RespuestaScrew that i still havent gotten the vex mytho or thr ghorn
-
1 RespuestaHere's what I got from your post: GET RID OF THEM ENTIRELY. And I can definitely agree. Exotics drop like no tommorow now. Not even exciting anymore.
-
1 RespuestaYep I agree, I've got over 100 exotic shards sitting on my hunter, they're a little to easy to get rn

5 RespuestasEditado por Kone19ps: 6/12/2016 7:55:23 PMVehemently disagree with that first part. Exotics did not take effort in year one they took luck and time. Three of coins mediated the bullshit that was rng. Exotics only take effort if they have a quest. Chasing ghorn gave me an empty feeling and when I got it so late it didn't fill that hole with joy it filled it with resentment for both bungie and the destiny community that locked people out of activities My opinion is all exotics should be quests. No rng whatsoever then they can remove three of coins and boost legendary drops
-
5 RespuestasOh I remember the old exotic weapon bounties well. Hours and hours of grinding for a err.......unremarkable weapon. Ok there was Thorn but lets not go there. Anyway. You want to remove one of things that make strikes worth doing again. To go back to the old fashioned way of RNG in Nightfalls, the exotic chest and bosses in raids. To know the frustration week in, week out of not getting a -blam!-ing bean while your friend gets their 9th Gjallahorn. To pray that this was the week that troll Xur would finally sell something worthwhile, only to find the bastard had nothing but bloody junk for the umpteenth time. I swear Rahool and Xur are secret drinking buddies laughing at each other's antedotes of guardian despair. So to sum it up, you actually wish to increase the grind and return to an age where despair at a lack of rewards was commonplace. Good one there champ -_-.

3 RespuestasIf people had to go back to only getting exotics from rng, it would suck. You may have had good luck with drops, so you were fine with getting exotics without any help. I have great luck with rng myself, but i have friends that cant catch a break with rng. 3oc is the only way they've gotten exotics. Why take that away from them? Just because you dont feel they've earned it? Thats shitty bro.
-
2 RespuestasMy beef is exotic weapons do not feel exotic nor powerful. There are more legendary weapons that feel more exotic than the actual exotics...
-
2 RespuestasI never got a single Hawkmoon in year one, despite 1000 hours of game time running raids and nightfalls. Pure RNG isn't a good choice.

3 RespuestasAgreed, I used to be like; "hey i got an exotic!" now i'm like... "i hope it's 335 so i can infuse it into the Legendary gear that i like". You can easily pull one exotic per day now. They aren't exotic anymore. They're just restrictive in that we can only equip 1 at a time, Personally, if it weren't for the swords, i'd probably equip NONE of them now.
-
Sorry but as many commented before exotics are simply not exotic anymore. There are rather only a few that are "better" then legendary weapons.
-
Unfortunately the current pool of exotics available just aren't worth questing after. Who wants to grind out a quest for a weapon that's so weak and unimpressive that you will never equip it anyway? I would love to have to do some kind of quest for each exotic instead of using bullshit 3 of coins, but at the moment there's no exotics that are worthy of being called a reward for completing said quest. (Other than the swords and Telesto) Good post from you as always dude :-)

Did someone say Borderlands

1 RespuestaWhat exotics? They are all garbage anyway. Since PVP balancing nerf..all Exotics are watered down. The only way to make exotics back to the real exotic is seperate PVP from PVE or ban Exotics from PVP.

1 RespuestaEditado por GrayWulf25: 6/13/2016 10:08:31 PMWhen my 1st Exotic Weapon dropped after a game of Control in October 2014 I was buzzing. It was a MIDA, it improved my play in PvP and PvE, what a great reward A few days later playing Control again I got a SUROS Regime. By that point I just had enough Strange Coins to buy Truth from XUR and just enough motes to buy my 1st Exotic Engram from him (helmet) which turned into Helm of Saint-14 Y2 players are denied these rewarding moments by the changes for 3oC and the removal of Exoitc Engrams from XUR. The game is poorer as a result
