We all know these kinds of users by heart now, at least most of us who have been here to experience running into one so here are my top 26 most common types of users I find in #Offtopic:
1. The Troll, This guy or girl is usually always attacking someone and usually flaming others whenever they get triggered, they mostly just either do it because they have nothing better to do or simply just have no actual point but to be a jerk kek or....thy love triggering people. They spam, make useless posts and overall just pointless fun for them Tbh.
2. The "Oh my life's so hard you don't understand" type: these users are literally the most naive and easily triggered users. We allhad some shitty part in life get over it kid. Best way to avoid them is to simply ignore their rants. They're too pessimistic as well.
3. The "serious" type: Oh boy I love these users the most, they take everything even a simple joke so serious it's a chore to explain to them you were just messing around, best way to avoid these is to simply not joke around so much or just ignore them.
4. The "white knights" man I gotta love these users, Idk where they got their certification for online law enforcement but they do a good job at it, but let's face it that's nothing compared to rl ones, those are worse.
5. The "overly sexual" type, these users always have to make everything sexual to the point where some chats are just plain explicit talks which isn't a bad thing but goddamn it's everyday chill with the hormones.
6. The "Hot heads", these users are easily triggered but also prone to flaming the living hell out of any user that triggers them and they spam literal mountains of hate messages.
7. The "manipulator", these users lie a lot, they tend to manipulate other users for their own fun and games and overall these aren't the users you want to have around or be friends with but Eh best way to avoid em is to not even make contact.
8. The "religious" type, man these users need to chill with their religion some users have been called and branded as evil or devil worshippers because they aren't religious or a certain religion lol, they constantly make religion posts. Just ignore these.
9. The "controversial" type, they are basically the ones making those triggering posts like feminist threads and anything that causes a huge drama between users.
10. The "I wanna be off topic famous" type, Tbh there isn't a point to it but we gotta admit the well known users here mostly are known for like the same thing over and over. The users who try to be well known usually post literally multiple threads just to gain some renown which Idk it's different let's just be nice about it for now. They also like to talk to as many users as possible. Best way to avoid em is Tbh every user here is best avoided by being ignored and muted. They all have a gimmick.
11. The "nice" type, these come in different levels but tbh the best kind of these is awesome to have around. They usually have a positive vibe and try to make this place a little bit less of what its infamously as.
12. The average user, these users dont try to do anything too crazy they mostly are neutral around here, idk what else to say, they are just there lol.
13. The "Ninjas and Mentors", they are community volunteers. Ninjas moderate users who break CoC and Mentors help out mostly, although Mentors are mostly found in #Feedback from what I can see.
14. The "lurkers", these users are the ghosts of offtopic, they never say hi or state their presence bu they're there. Best way to draw em out is to say their name 3 times while setting a Lenny on fire. Works every time.
15. The "Sarcastic and funny" users, they can be taken out of context and can be seen as dickheads especially by the serious users. Best way to know if they are kidding is to ask and that's it. They're just here to bring some humour and all.
16. The "Hard shells" these users are the first to call bullshit on anything that seems a bit sketchy and aren't afraid to be honest about it.
17. The "Grammar" police, these guys are persistent af in pointing out any misspelling or anything wrong grammatically.
18. The "catfish" ah man, I think it's established by now that everyone loves these users the most. Most of the time catfishes just do it to laugh about how easy they are making some people believe they are girls and all. Careful now.
19. The "Lenny" users, these guys always have to make everything include a lenny otherwise it's not perfect or simply just put it there because it's what they do.
20. The "edge lords and obnoxious Atheists", we all hate em. We don't like these at all. Too edgy. And as for the atheists I'm one myself just to make it clear that I'm not biased against others, but posting about how stupid religion is and bashing religious users for it to make them feel stupid is uncalled for, I'd rather just hang back and not start a religion debate Tbh, but we know how often these posts are made regardless.
21. The "Superiority" complex type, these users werent like that or are. Point is these guys like to spit on another user just because they don't have something they do, but let's face it they're probably lying about their life anyways, mostly to feel bet te r about themselves. Or simply just like to belittle people.
22. The "political overlords" these users always post about anything happening in the political world and make it clear that whoever is against their choice is politically wrong or stupid enough to go for the other one. Some are hostile and very few are mature and polite enough to not bash as much.
23. The "Artists" these users are awesome contributors to the community, some of them add in a breath of fresh air or pixels Lol to creativity and just gives us something to look at and admire while we are around. Good contributors.
24. The "LFG Destiny Fanboys" these users usually come over from #Destiny Forums or simply are lost in here not realising this isn't the Destiny forums anymore. Most of them post LFG in group chats and get banned for it and never know why. Mostly confused.
25. The "Detective" these users make it their mission to expose other users and such, they sometimes are able to get a hold of their so called objectives social media profiles like Tumblr, FB, Twitter and such. Another reason why you shouldn't have your other social media go by the same user name you got here
26. The "RP" users, I can't honestly describe them all as one as it seems they all have their own separate sub groups and factions within the same name. I think this group is one of the most diverse and complex out of them all in terms of creativity and differences. Some are good and some are bad. But overall not a bad community at all. They are those fairy tale folks who create a world of their own, and takes the role of someone or something in that world. These post tend to be sci-fi in location or post apocalyptic. Their posts span multiple threads and groups, all dedicated to a made up fantasy that makes them feel special.
Extra info about RP by LeemanRuss ("It depends really. Its rather... difficult to explain because of how different each group is....
RoB focuses on very long and detailed posts based on a warhammer 40k esk universe. Everything is big and bloody.
Other groups do alot of character interaction and explorations and hide away from fighting.
Then there are god modders which get exiled
and ERPers which is frowned upon... and by frowned upon I mean, ganged up on and post banned if done publicly.")
I got a couple more like the users who are too unique to describe like Engra and LongFace but ya know haha.
Also the chill kind and a few others but all in all this is a fairly diverse community.
Edit: I've been increasing from 7 to 26 types now and I've re edited #15 and #20.
Edit: I'll be adding a couple More like the RP users and such. If anyone else thinks this list is missing any categories lemme know!
Edit: Thats the final Edit. I hope this list is somewhat spot on and close to describing most if not all of the most common types of users in #Offtopic, cheers guys!

3 Respuestas27. The Oldf*gs - Users who spent ample time on the old site prior to 2013 and have at least 5 years of b.net account history. They remember a simpler time, a time when Bungie was a company to look up to. Now they've gone into hiding, but a few out there still scrape by, longing for things to return to what they once were.

They have every opinion and every section of Wikipedia in the copy and paste clip board. Sometimes they are attacked by other users (the attackers vary) so they go into hiding for a week or so and occasionally change their user names.

We allhad some shitty part in life get over it kid. Best way to avoid them is to simply ignore their rants. They're too pessimistic as well.
I've never really understood people who have attitudes like this. You're basically telling them that because other people have gone through shit, that means that their own personal experience has no meaning in comparison. Which in turn only adds to a perpetuation of low self worth. I mean, sure, it seems an appropriate reaction when some teen is complaining about how his video games were taken away because he failed a class or some such, but imagine saying that to someone who has gone through abuse. It seems a callous thing to do to just completely invalidate their trauma by making it seem that they have no reason to be traumatised when other people have it worse. No one has the same breaking point after all. What may break one person could serve to strengthen another's resolve. Who knows, maybe I just have a different view than most. Or maybe what happens to one person really doesn't matter compared to everyone else.
