Mine broke twice. Ylod is inexcusable. They should have refunded anyone that bout a fat ps3. Inexcusable manufacturing problems

All hardware has a failure rate. Nothing is infallible. The whole thing is that the YLoD was much less prevalent than the RRoD. The 360 shipped with a failure rate above 70%. The majority of YLoD complaints also came from people who owned their PS3 for a few years which also increases hardware failure rate. I had two 360s fail in a couple [i]months[/i], not years.

The 360 failed so often because people didn't know how to take care of their damn consoles. Original 360 owner until the elite came out. Sold my 360 to a friend and bought the elite one. Heck he still has the same console and it runs fine. No rlod no service maintenance, no issues at all apart from running out of hard drive space XD

I never said they all fail, you got lucky with yours. But even MS finally admitted at a point that the 360 had an unusually high failure rate. That's why they gave free three year warranties to all 360 owners. I took care of mine and they still failed. It was more after buying a brand new one, when I got pissed about the refurbished, and it failed after three months that I was done.

My gripe with the Xbone doesn't come from the hardware itself. MS did a lot to make up for the issues with the 360. I just don't like the interface. I personally do not like seeing ads on my homescreen. I'd rather ads stay in areas where ads belong.

Makes sense. I probably need to look into both. I value opinions of those that have used both systems. When i bought the ps3 it seemed better for me. Now not sure which way to go. I want to see what xbox will be,like next upgrade

Xbox does offer decent customer support, though. On the other hand, I haven't had issues with my Playstations that required Sony support. But I've heard Sony support isn't the greatest. Other than that, it really comes down to exclusives, how much you like the interfaces, and how the controllers feel. The consoles are very similar hardware-wise.

True, but have you ever dealt with sony. They are terrible. The cause of ylod is inexcusable. Anyway, it appears,xbox one is pretty good. Hate that i will have to give up on destiny to go across platforms but that appears to be my only option.

Hardware failures happen. It's a thing that comes when you own electronics. This is why warranties are offered on electronic devices. The fact is that YLoD cases were well within normal parameters for hardware failures while the RRoD could have been classified as an epidemic.
