So i've been thinking about how cool it would be to be able to cancel your own super and save your super bar.
Imagine you just popped your hammer or stormcaller and you got halfway down and you still haven't found anyone? No problem just cancel your super and start again with a half charged bar.
Using goldengun but can't find anyone? No Problem.
Pop a bubble but spawns switch and its completely irrelevant? Worry not!
I can see the argument of it making it less risky to use a super and maybe they should place some restrictions on it like if you cancel a super you still have to die before you can use it again, Or if you die withing 3 seconds of canceling your super it gets rid of you whole super to avoid people cancelling just before dieing to save their super.
Just an idea feel free to leave your thoughts on the matter.
Edit 1: Seems most of you disagree with me for the fact of being able to use a super multiple times in one life but if you read the whole thing youd see i suggested against that. I also liked the idea of it only recharging like you have teir 0 int. It's just a suggestion to much would have to change for this to actually come into the game though.
Edit 2: Probably the best suggestion and seems to iron out most of the unbalances except for Selfres and Bubble.
[DDAWGG747: Great idea. Only thing is. If you fire a shot. Hitting An enemy or not. Then cancelling option goes away. But if u activate. See no one. Dont fire a shot. Cancel. And still be charged to where the bar drained down to.]

2 RespuestasSees enemy. Pops golden. Kills. Deactivated with 90% of the bar left. Uses again in 5 seconds. Rinse and repeat.
-
I think that for golden gun, if it runs out you should still get a portion back even without canceling.
-
1 RespuestaYes to cancelling. Absolutely not to retaining Super energy

2 RespuestasSelf res then cancel with nearly full super bar?
-
Yes to being able to cancel your super. No to it saving super energy. If you pop your super in a bad place and either can't find anyone or only get 1 kill, that's your fault and you shouldn't be able to just cancel the super to get energy back. You should be able to end it early though. I've had times were a wish I could end my stormtrance early so I could use my heavy or just have my gun back for more range.
-
No way, deciding when to use your super is part of the challenge.
-
Good idea
-
-
I would be ok with this as long as canceling it causes the remainder of the bar to charge up as if you had tier 0 intellect and you can't cancel if you have dealt or taken damage within your super. Finally, canceling it makes a distinctive sound so you can't use it as a scare tactic then unpop immediately.
-
I can honestly see this as a Defender exclusive exotic.
-
You just got a universal no. I have never seen this community agree on anything before

Hate this idea

Supers are all about risk vs reward.... So no.
-
I like the idea.
-
Not really fair to non-roaming supers. Can't take back my Nova Bomb if I don't get as many kills as I wanted. This would make the roaming supers ridiculous. See an enemy, activate super, kill enemy, deactivate super. Repeat. If you activated your super in a stupid situation, your loss. No take backs.
-
6 RespuestasNaw. Roaming supers are already way too good in crucible as is. Making them better wouldn't be the best. And in PvE, that's never really a problem.
-
You my fiend are an idiot your idea is so incredibly OP it is insane
-
-
8 RespuestasYou could also allow players to activate their super before the bar was full for decreased duration or effect, making the energy gauge function more like a mana pool. Yet another cool thing we'll never have in Destiny...
-
2 RespuestasThat would make bubbles and Bladedancer OP With bubble: >rocket inbound >pop a bubble >rocket hits bubble >cancel bubble >charges back up in a few seconds Bladedancer: >enemy nearby >pop Bladedancer >kill em >cancel Bladedancer >charges again in a few seconds

Editado por Wrequer3: 6/12/2016 1:58:33 AMNo because supers are meant to be used in a strategic location, like locking down a relic or securing a point. This would make it so easy to pop it, run a little, open it up, wipe the team, shut it down again. It would make roaming supers even stronger than one hit supers such as Nova Bomb and Fist. Also imagine self Rez warlocks. Get full super, pop self Rez. Cancel it. Die again, self Rez again.
-
Sorry, I don't think this is a good idea. The point of a super is to potentially bring about a swing in a team's fortunes (in PvP), or to stall an enemy's advance in some way (in PvE). Therefore, the decision to activate your super is a strategic decision. By being able to deactivate it for later waters down it's importance.
