Snipers need some work done to them, bungie please

Uniremote and sniper or the first curse shotty. Went flawless this weekend with it. Rushing like crazy. I love "shipe" maps because the first round or two they don't expect the rush.

There are nuances to stats such as this, snipers are favoured in trials due to their ability to keep the enemy at a distance and allow for easy revives. Most sniping teams have a fundamental flaw though, they refuse to ambush the weak opponent and win the round. They prefer to wait and attempt to get a triple kill rather than striking the opponent at their weakness while they are either tagged or have players down. Your optimal setup for dealing with such players would be to use two shotguns and one sniper, alternatively team fire with scouts will do. Then rushing up while either one is down and one is weakened or two down will put your enemy at a large disadvantage. This is my preferred trials setup and I hope it allows you to counter pesky hard scopers.

1 RespuestaI find it intriguing that people use auto rifles on a long aight line map. I was fooling around with my brother and I find it hard to believe snipers were only 40%. Only had one group rush us. And for a long range and sight map, I'm seeing auto rifles. While I understand that I'm probably the only one pulling out ToM and AoS for Trials (lol my trials K/D shows how seriously I take trials 90% of the time) I was shocked to see not one Scout or even Pulse rifles (except Hawksaw). For that matter, I never see people use scouts or non luck in the chamber / full auto hand cannons in any playlist. I've been playing on PS4, so I'm not sure if it is different in XB1. It's a shame that some guns that are a total blast to use are completely ignored.

You know the concept behind trials, right? It's supposed to be the hardest game mode available and the objective is to stay alive and eliminate the enemy team. Why would you choose to fight up close by rushing with a shotgun or even Fusion Rifle. You're potentially leaving your team behind, and best case scenario trade a kill with the enemy (after all, you've just rushed into three guys), leaving your ghost out of your team mates' reach. Congratulations. The strengths of a sniper aren't in its power, in a game mode like elimination, you want to have high lethality with minimal risk. What better way to minimise risk than by not rushing headlong into an enemy and sitting back in a place where the rest of your team mates can easily revive you if you do die? This whole sniper ordeal is an illusion, and the people being tricked just don't understand a sniper's role in a game mode like elimination. They can nerf Snipers all the down to the point where it takes two headshots to kill and they'll still be preferred by Trials players because its lethality still outweighs the risk.
-
That's because trials is a game mode well suited to longer range engagements. Rushing can be very costly, so many players hang back at longer ranges. What's a good long range weapon? A sniper. Nothing OP about it.

Trials of Snipciris

The sniper nerf did nothing because primaries are so bad. Buff primaries and you will see the use of snipers drop
-
Doesn't mater what they do there will always be a top meta first it was fusion rifles, then it was shotguns then snipers and then sidearms(glitch) now snipers again just be thankfully it isn't above 60%
-
Yup just a bunch of no scoping sausage lovers

6 RespuestasYou know I haven't really touched a sniper since the update. Been to the Lighthouse multiple times with fusions. It really depends on the map, of course this week is a sniper map but when I get back into town I'll be taking a fusion to the Lighthouse again. People are afraid to try new things.

9 RespuestasDo No one realise elimination favours snipers? Jeezes... Its how the game mode work, snipers are far less punishing and easier in an playlist where you can't revive yourself. Shotguns are really good, but needs alot more skill in elimination.

7 RespuestasYeah it is a sniper fest. Was watching my kid play Trials for a couple of hours today and it was just a race to the 2 sniper lanes on the left and right of the map and then hard scoping for most of the match from these points. Even if a player or two would try rushing they would either get sniped or pull a sniper out from 20 feet away.....it's just about the only weapon that's needed in Trials by the look of it. Makes the whole game mode repetitively dull in my opinion.

Pantheon‚ duhh wait for a different map next week and data and result variations should change 70-90% guaranteed
-
1 RespuestaThat's what happens when you nerf shotguns fusions and primaries into the ground. Who woulda thought?
-
Same as usual. The funniest thing was the December patch though. If you look at the weapon usage stats after the massive higher impact PR and shotgun Nerfs, it gets completely ridiculous.
-
1 RespuestaI feel fusions and shotguns need a PVP buff so the high impact ones can res kill.

4 Respuestaswhich map...or does that matter to you?
