Siva is a plague associated with the darkness. Perhaps siva tech? Perhaps we send them away as the way we "defeat" them at the end of Rise of Iron with the help of Rasputin? There appears to be a heavy focus on warminds in this expansion

And if Siva tech helped them leave, then they should have been able able to return using it. They wouldn't have needed Oryx to open the door, and if they came through then obviously they wanted to.

Warminds are Golden Age tech, and we aren't fully aware of the extent of their abilities. They are extremely advanced A.I., who is to say they couldn't extrapolate from the paracausal powers of the Vex or Ascendant hive, understand it and use it? We're talking another universe here. We can't understand the mechanics of said universe unless it is remarkably similar to our own, which we hardly understand. Perhaps Siva can't function there, perhaps they don't want to leave and only choose to return when disturbed by Oryx, perhaps they simply forget about their origin.
