That's not the same context. The game itself is not a paywall, but if they lock content, or in this case weapons, behind a purchase that's a paywall. I think you need to look up what it means

Editado por VoodooSevenTwo: 6/9/2016 11:25:55 PMI get what he's (she's?) saying. They're simply making a reference that the Y3 Gjallerhorn won't be available to those who don't purchase the expansion. To be fair though, neither will any Rise of Iron content. Which is what the Y3 Gjallerhorn is. So, you purchase the DLC, you get ALL of the content. You don't purchase it, you don't get it. However, Gjallerhorn itself is not locked behind a pay wall if you got it in Y1. So, technically, everyone is right. Now shut the hell up and let's go kick some alien ass!!!!

I don't know who you were referring to in that first sentence but it triggered my because I sexually identify as an attack helicopter so kys. And my point was not that the year one was behind a paywall, the new DLC one is, as well as the content if you take this farther and discuss the nature of DLC

The gun is NOT locked behind a paywall. You can do a quest and get the regular Gjallarhorn or pre-order and get a black Gjallarhorn for doing the same quest. If you don't buy the new expansion, you can get the year 1 Gjallarhorn. If you are expecting to get year 3 weapons without buying the expansion, you need a reality check and that is in no way locking it behind a paywall.

The gun you can actually use effectively is just locked behind a paywall, that changes my whole perspective. You have truly convinced me that it's actually not a paywall

Editado por Prolific JaY: 6/9/2016 11:11:52 PMI guess I misread your post. Technically, every expansion released for any game is considered a paywall. Gotta pay for the expansion to get the new content. I thought you were whining like the 100 other threads of people with no reading comprehension who think the only way to get the Gjallarhorn was to preorder.
-
Editado por DarkMythos: 6/9/2016 11:10:34 PMNo that's not what I was doing, and I also said that every DLC is technically paywall somewhere else only to be told I'm just a bitch who wants everything for free, because apparently that can be inferred somehow
-
Still a little confused to why you even posted that to begin with though. I mean, in todays age of gaming, pretty much every game comes with expansions that you can only have access to if you pay for them. To me, it sounds like the OP is misinformed and believes that the only way to get a Y3 Gjallarhorn is to pre-order and that is definitely not the case..
-
So then every DLC is a paywall? Good to know. Can't wait to complain about this to most games that are coming out.

Technically, yes. It locks content behind a purchase. It's not illogical, it's very reasonable
