It needs to be the most powerful weapon in the game. It needs to melt bosses, including Warpriest and Golgoroth. If it doesn't, this will bring far more disappointment than anything Bungie has done to date.
Don't bring Gjally back if it isn't going to be Gjally. Only do it if you're willing to have an OP weapon. Basically, don't be afraid to make it OP. It's supposed to be OP.

It's a preorder bonus so if it is OP then Destiny is going pay to win
-
Damn people are harsh I posted this before the revel stream I was just speculating calm down.
It's a preorder bonus so if it is OP then Destiny is going pay to win
Save the world from more stupidity, don't reproduce.

You see those people saying you're wrong? You need to learn to listen.
-
It's a quest line, you just get day of access to it instead of unlocking it.
-
Actually it's not a preorder only the special skin called the iron gally is preorder the normal sooner one everyone can get
-
...you can get it in game through a quest or preorder...

His comment was before the stream

They said its to be as powerful as Gjallarhorn, maybe stronger
-
Do you have that quote? If so, I'll be the first person to pre-order.
-
they could easily make it so a triple gjally doesnt end the strike once you get to the boss. look at echo chamber, you gotta play the encounter instead of just blasting the baddie. Really its not that hard to think of mechanics for a boss
-
Echo chamber boss is easily killed before it gets the chance to spawn even the hydra
sleeper simulant
-
Thank you. Someone knows how to sleeper simulant.
-
It wasnt meant to be in the first place, and Bungie wont make it stupid OP again.
-
Do you have proof that it wasn't meant to be OP? It was the most powerful weapon in year 1 by a massive margin. If they didn't want it to be that, then they done messed up. Do you have any quotes of them saying something like "we didn't want it to be that powerful". Or "It was a bug, a glitch that made it that way." If not, then it was meant to be that powerful in the first place. And Bungie needs to make it stupid OP again, or not bring it back at all. It would be idiotic to use it as a marketing ploy only to make it a massive disappointment. They would loose even more of the trust that we have in them. Not that we have much more trust left, they've just about used all of it up at this point. BTW, you aren't going to find the quote I'm asking for, because you're wrong. Bungie absolutely intended to make Gjally exactly as powerful as it was. Here's a quote from Bungie:
We definitely intended to have a high damage Heavy Weapon that was ideal for PvE destruction. What we did not intend, and what we unfortunately saw, was pick up Raid and Nightfall groups gating participation based on whether or not players had this weapon. Gjallarhorn was so strong that for many people it had become the only answer to getting through tough encounters, and therefore they were less willing to spend time with other players that didn’t have it.
-
I agree with ya. Think about this - if they didn't want it to be OP, if BUNGIE, the nerf-happy people they are, didn't want it to be OP, then you know they'd have nerfed it into the ground way before the Taken King. They clearly did this knowingly.
-
Good quote... and they were absolutely right it was bullshit the way LFG players were going about building groups... but hey, you can't stop people from being dicks
-
That's what Quest lines are for now....
-
I agree. People are stupid. It didn't take 6 Gjally's to take down Crota's shields. It didn't take 3 Gjally's to kill Skolas. If it takes a minute longer to kill the boss, who cares? Just play, and don't be a Richard!
-
Yeah, it only takes one hit of a raze-lighter lol bye bye crota
-
F Skolas... I've only beaten him once... I'm sure its easier now that we're so many levels higher... but i still have night mares of a couple 6-7 hour runs just TRYING lol I made my wife and brother do it with other clan mates because i wanted nothing to do with him ever again But yeah... nothing required a gally
-
I highly doubt it will be OP. They wouldn't have nerf ed it and discontinued it for a year just to make the same mistake all over again. It's marketing.
