You are alone in the universe. Plenty of other people exist, but none of them will ever understand you as you do. You can never know with certainty that anyone besides yourself is a conscious, sentient being. You can only be certain of your own consciousness. There is no other intelligent life in the universe. There is no God. There is no afterlife. You will die alone. Even if you are surrounded by other people, you will die and they will remain, and so you will experience your death alone. You can't take them with you. Everything you have ever said, done, or thought about will probably be forgotten within 100 years of your death. ... How do you feel? There's a metaphysical element that we don't understand. Maybe there is no God and no afterlife in the conventional sense, but there is [i]something[/i] more to all of this.
