"One only, where the hell are we going?"
She grabs onto a bar on the roof to keep herself stable
I thought she was with our crew .-.
"It's called The Jolly Undertaker, it used to be a luxury cruiser, way back in the day that is, it was basically a giant piece of useless scrap when Zhackie bought it, dirt cheap since the vendors in Jaxen just wanted to get rid of it. Zhackie had vision let me tell you, thing wasn't even airtight when he bought it, now it's a hub floating in the middle of an asteroid belt attracting all sorts of colorful people. You need a drink or a job, that's where you go" She continues flying though the belt.
-
"So we're going to a floating bar?"
-
She giggles. "Don't call it a bar, he hates that" The asteroids seem to become less and less concentrated as she flies further. "On top of a bar, a really clean bar I should add ..." she begins. "It offers lodging, a bay with repairs and modification services, a few shops and a gym. And there it is" She says looking straight ahead. The ship is now approaching the large body of a light brown cruiser floating within the belt, void of any asteroids in its' nearby surroundings. The outside is a bit weathered-looking and a few scrapes and scratches are also observable, other than that no other irregularities are seen. "This is bay control of The Jolly Undertaker, state your name and intent or be considered a pirate and promptly shot at" a man with a low voice says over intercoms. "Shut up and let me in tosser" she replies smiling. "Eleif! Welly welly, welcome back lass" ////// The ship lowers ever slowly, then slightly jolts as it makes contact with the floor. Satisfied, she powers down the engines and power of the ship, Geraldine's Routine has landed. The hisses and opens into the bay below. "Welcome to The Jolly Undertaker"
-
"Uh-uh, interesting place" She looks around the area, then steps out, down the gangplank and into the hangar
-
The hangar is tidy, clean, nothing that reflects how the ship looks outside. Plenty of ships are docked currently, most of them light freighters like Eleif's ship, the two are approached by a man with a holo-pad. "Eleif, with Geraldine's Routine" he looks up from his pad to Jupiter. "With a guest. Your usual maintenance I assume? A refill and a tune up" "That's it" "Great, noted" he says as he powers down his pad and continues walking to the next ship. "Oi, let's go meet Zhackie"
-
"Whoever that is" She follows behind her, getting several sideways glances from people around her New face in a place like this, not exactly a good thing
-
"He's the boss, around here, even if he is humble about it" she begins. "Seeing as you're basically a stranger just about everywhere in your situation, no offense, I thought he's a person you would definitely want to get to know"
-
"I've got no plans to stay, so I'm not exactly worried about it"
-
The two make their way through several corridors and eventually find themselves walking down a hallway leading to a set of double doors. 'Zhackies Office' reads from a plaque bolted into the right door, and the sounds of a conversation become more distinct as they near, or perhaps it was an argument. "We're are not investing in something so impractical" "Your fingers specialize with things like canes and baseball bats and you're calling pen-gun impractical? Think about it, a pen, that's also-" Eleif opens the double doors and walks into a large room. The rooms is dimly lit by an overhead lamp hanging from the ceiling and over a large round table filled with books, stacks of paper and several holopads. The conversation taking place was between two men, one dressed in a grungy dress suit consisting of brown overcoat over a white dress shirt and dress pants, a bowler hat sat atop his head of distinct messy red hair. The other wore a dirty olive green military coat over a red t-shirt, torn and distressed gray jeans, and was barefoot. A set of dark welding goggles rested around his neck. "Eleif, hello" The man with red hair greets. He turns his head to Jupiter. "And who's your guest?"
-
"Jupiter" She eyes the two others in the room, noticing how Zhackie dressed and then the other man as well
-
"I found her in a box" Eleif says. Zhackie raises a brow at the remarks, which in his defense did sound peculiar without context. "Level with me, what's going on" "Well" she begins. "In a nutshell, I picked up a distress beacon that turned out to be coming from a long abandoned research facility floating around a gassy. Inside I found absolutely nobody, hence abandoned, and in my search I found her in stasis. So I thawed her, seemed like a good idea at the time, and now we're here" she takes a breath. Zhackie doesn't seem any less confused, and the other man in the room scratches his shaggy head of black hair, also perplexed. "I swear, sometimes I can't tell whether you're lying or telling the truth" he says with a laugh. "It's true!" she retorts.
-
"She's telling the truth, it may sound crazy, but I was indeed ok ice"
-
"I'm sure you would tell the better explanation, no offense" Zhackie says, making Eleif pout. "So, Jupiter. What's your story? "
-
"To keep it short, I'm a thousand years old, and a scientific experiment"
-
He remains silent, a look of ambivalence on his face. "Whether you're speaking in metaphors or not, there are things I will assume. First is that you have no place to call your own, second is that your current resources are minimal, if present, and third, you need an identity. Are any of those incorrect" he asks.
-
"Two out of three, good try I'm Jupiter Tanner, as I've stated I'm currently not registers anywhere"
-
"Now that you've associated with us, we can register you anywhere" "And everywhere" Eleif adds, pride in her tone. "I'm Zhackie" the man with the red hair says. "You've met Eleif, and this is the guy that keeps this hub airtight and functional" "My name is Kir, prick" The group laughs. "Well then, with introductions out of the way, we come down to the main matter at hand here, Jupiter. What do you want right now, what do you desire?"
-
"A good meal and I've no clue as to the rest"
-
"Then why don't you brood it over a meal then, we all have to start somewhere then" Zhackie says. "Go down to the leisure deck and ask for Lens, he makes some killer Pelmini, amazing stuff I'm telling you. Lunch hours don't start for a while but tell him I sent you, or just take Eleif with you, either works"
-
"I'll manage by myself, and thanks She turns, leaving the room in search of the mess hall
-
The place is empty, a few sounds of activity can be heard coming from the kitchen area. Other than that there is no other person currently in the deck. The food bar is currently empty on all trays and displays, a bell sits by the end of the bar located next to a cashier.
-
Not knowing which to go to, she heads to the kitchen, asking for whom she was sent to
-
((You could have rang the bell)) Three people are currently working, one is looking through clean dishes to make sure they're spotless while another is checking inventory in a cold room. The third is overlooking both of them, a clipboard in hand. "Who are you?"
-
"Jupiter, Zhakie sent me"
