Dude, plenty of weapons can counter doctrine. Get good.

BS the only counter is the Soul Stealersclaw or Hawksaw(because it has unlimited range with a high RoF).

Telling me to get good when your overall KD is .94 and mine is a 1.4 but that's besides the point. Any good player can kill anybody with doctrine, it can be countered, duh, but that is again besides the point. I said it had no downsides not that it can't be countered.

The doctrine is still over powered. When a .78 K/D can become a God and get 20+ kills a game because of one weapon, it needs to go. You got rid of the thorn and yet everyone had one. I've been to the light plenty of times and still haven't gotten the doctrine. Besides the doctrine being a bad kids dream gun to become "good", sniping on this game takes no skill. If I'm hitting you in the head with mida or hung jury or hawksaw, and you calmly take my face (which I always move side to side) or you can hide behind a rock and jump snipe, there's no counter. Make it a perk for primary's, critical hits take you out of scope when sniping. You've broken rockets, supers are 50/50. (Meaning sometimes they work and sometimes they don't) the crucible is not fun anymore.

They usually won't be able to kill you if you don't run into them head first. Personally I use Khepri's Stings so noobs don't even see me coming.

They did nerf it (they took the damage down and that's it) and 90% of the time I don't have a problem with it. It's the fact that the range fall off is non existent. When my mida's damage is falling off and you're still hitting 15 per crit and you burst the doctrine and hitting me from across the map, it needs to be balanced. They're close to fixing it. 1) they need to fix the range fall off. It shouldn't almost kill a hawksaw or mida from across the map. It's shouldn't compete from that distance. 2) I don't care if you use it, but it has one of the highest rates of fire and yet there is no recoil. If you have brace frame or other stability perks you can hold the trigger and it barely moves. Yet all other guns, even other assault rifles, have recoil. All I want is balance. And you should really look into the people who you tell to get "good". I'm not a god, but I'm consistently 1.5K/D. I don't want this game to act like every other game and allow these bad kids to pick up a weapon and they become good. We're losing the skill base aspect of games and we're starting to see it in this game.
