An Auto Rifle Rant
Yup, it's one of [i]those[/i] posts. Back when Bungie brought auto rifles back into use we were all happy and excited. I was eager to see what would become of them over time. Well now I know! I recently got a Righteous 7 from New Monarchy because of the fabulous perks it has. I took it into the Crucible and dumped a whole clip into a charging Titan, the whole friggin' clip! It didn't even reduce his health by half. Was it my connection? No, all good there. It just kept happening after that. No matter what weapon the enemy team brought against me it was the same thing.
I've often defended auto rifles because they are viable weapons. But lately? I'm starting to wonder if there was something introduced into the game without our knowledge. Only high RoF, Low Impact auto rifles do considerable damage in the Crucible.
Now you would think that because this SUROS has a high RoF that it would qualify. But it doesn't. Not in the slightest. SO WHAT GIVES? Why is this such an issue?

Haakon's Hatchet, Monte Carlo, and Necrocasm are great Autos that kick as in crucible. I find Auto archetypes with higher rates of fire do much better now. It used to be the opposite if I remember right.

There are two ways to kill guardians in the Crucible. One is quicker than the other... Guess which way you were using?

3 RespuestasMy righteous 7 does a ton of damage, and takes less than a mag to kill a guardian. Suro's requires skill to use hate to say, i thought the same as you but with the spinning up perk you can wreak if it is the right hands. Simply picking it up and shooting people though, won't work at all until some practice is involved.

My Righteous VII has Glass Half Full. I won't reload unless I have less than 15 rounds cause I can consistently get kills with even a few rounds to spare. The mid RoF is mostly balanced. Maybe the slightest damage buff. The low RoF really need some love, like all low RoF weapons atm.

I own the righteous 7, and with 43 bullets in the mag, you can take out a charging titan with juggernaut even if all the shot where body shots. You can't sit there and say you empty a whole mag on a gaudian and couldnt get the kill and say that the weapon is underpowered. Edit: the base mag is 32, but even with this amount you can take out a gaurdian with a shield.

Dude honestly I feel your pain. I bought a righteous too cause of the perks. Anyway 1 month later I let go of the gun. Then they gave my one thru the loot system. Worse perks but performs better.
