The simple fact is that endgame stays endgame, and if the level cap moves so does the endgame.

  • Vanilla destiny level cap is still the same level as it's always been. Expansions haven't altered that and shouldn't count as end game as they are optional. When a game has an expansion released its meant to add content to the original not replace and reorder.

You could always buy the newest vendor gear which was good enough to do NF, and earn expansion gear via Crucible or IB.

  • I thought the cap only went up for people who bought down below and then house of wolves. If you had neither it stayed the same. And because the vanguard vendors only sell gear for the highest level available whether you bought the add on or not then unless you bought it all before the release of the next you'd have no option to buy them

  • Vanguard gear was always 1 or 2 levels below cap. As cap moved, so did their gear. As HoW was being released there was a huge uproar over this. Non-HoW players were granted access to HoW gear and E-Light, which could be earned from NF and IB. So it was possible to reach cap with only Vanilla

The reason it was a couple under cap though was to make room for the light level you could only get to from doing the raids and wearing that armour. They could of just had the vendor sell all the vanguard armour. I never understood why all these so called 'merchants' could only sell about 8 items. Would it of been that difficult to have them sell different things depending on what expansion you had?

  • When I first started playing, I thought the different vendors have specific gear. Shaxx would have gear with PvP perks and loadouts, NM DO and FWC were for the different classes and sold gear with specific perks amd stats tailored for certain subclasses...boy was I wrong.

  • Endgame is endgame. Destiny isn't like other games, you can't compare it with others. Endgame is for those who own the current endgame. Not for people who don't feel like buying it.

Youre right, it isnt like others. No one else would force their customers into a purchase to carry on getting play time out of a game they bought outside of a subscription model. You're happy with them moving the goal posts and forcing you to keep on just buying the next thing they release over and over like a $40 subscription? You're a companies wet dream. You should go ask Activision to bring back the call of duty elite program but for destiny instead.

  • If the endgame is moving and I'm paying for it you're damn right I want to have more to do than those who didn't pay. I spent more money, they didn't, why should they have the same number of things as I do? Please try to stick to a real argument instead of just turning to petty insults.

Wasn't even an insult, it was an observation. Of course you want more to do than those who didn't pay for the next dlc. Although usually that involves having new things to do instead of the old stuff with a higher level requirement. Most aren't so easily pleased and eager to hand over their money for something as lazy as rehashed content with a higher difficulty.

  • Lol yeah, you might wanna recheck what an insult is. I guess you still aren't clear what an endgame is either. Endgame is high level content you play after beating the game. It's tied to gather expansion is currently the latest. Why should there be two playlists for people who don't buy the latest DLC? There shouldn't.

If you think that was an insult you have been very sheltered. And how about because they already bought the game? Clearly logic isn't your strong suit. An expansion is an expansion to the game, which had already been bought and endgame content is what you unlock to play after you have beaten the game. Not the expansion. The game. Its called endgame, not endexpansion. Every other game that releases an expansion does not take away whatever you unlocked for getting to the endgame and put it behind the next dlc. And you will say destiny is unique and I will agree. Because every other game releasing company isn't stupid enough to think it's a good idea.

  • I've said what I've had to say, it's obvious we aren't going to agree and seeing as all you're doing is insulting me I have nothing else to say. I don't agree. My opinion is different than yours. You think I'm wrong. I think you're wrong. That's all, nice talking to you.
