Originally, there was the dark power known as "The Deep". This power was tapped into by the worm gods, and later Oryx when he killed one of the worms in correlation with the sword logic. Now, the king lies dead at our feet and we stand without any supernatural powers... or do we? I've heard a theory that the power of Oryx is stuck in the ravenous heart (item that makes Touch of Malice) and that makes a lot of sense. So, maybe we ourselves don't wield the Deep, but the gun itself uses the deep and that is why it is so powerful. Or, maybe we can't wield the Deep because Oryx killed the worm god with his blade, but we killed Oryx with guns, thus breaking the sword logic. What do you guys think?

Editado por CosmicGreat1: 5/31/2016 7:48:07 PMI hope in part 2 that we have a dark and light path to go with kinda like a sith vs jedi type of thing going on

1 RespuestaPerhaps it had to do something with the shard that eris takes from sword when we kill Oryx in story mode that we did get powers.. Or perhaps the deep can only be found on the worm gods planet and be a very old worm.. Not the baby's that run from us in the dreadnought..even further if they are worms why do they run and not go up our butts or in our ears and take us over?

We'd have to cleanse it, a lot. Like putting a piece of the traveler in it cleansing, then using aegis on it, next you bath it in 1000 orbs of light, reverse a hive ceremony, and finally infuse it with the traveler again. Yea, that might do it.

Editado por Roasted: 5/31/2016 7:18:40 PMI thought it was the Power of Deej Guardians with the nerfhammer...

Only Adele can wield such power. She can wield it alllllllllllll

Yes in theory. Toland dabbled in it and eventually conversed with the Deep. However the conflict between the Deep and the Sky is a matter of importance. The Deep and the Sky know not that they cannot live without eachother and might have been created to live in harmony but ended up like what it is now. We could use the power of the Deep but we would go insane like Toland and Dredgen Yor. However since we are the main character this will not be the case.

2 RespuestasNo we cannot without becoming corrupt

Technical we can

Toland dabbled, certainly. I like to think that the teleport trick of Tolands that Eris uses to get us out of the Ascendant realm was definitely some Hive trickery

1 RespuestaBecause we killed Oryx, only we can claim his power. But because we declined, his power with remain unclaimed until something or someone kills us.

Darkness subclass confirmed

Guardians technically could as Toland, the most knowledgeable character of such things, lead us to Oryx with the intention of us taking (parden the pun) the Throne, therefore we must be able to technically do it, but we didn't, we choose to break the system, so we don't get the power, but we aren't corrupted by it either. The Touch of Malice, that's interesting though, and way more up to interpretation

2 RespuestasEditado por Qwurxty: 5/30/2016 11:52:50 PMOryx's "worms of the deep" are dead. Also it's in a gas fundament likely destroyed by a "God wave"
might be wrong idea of the deep so correct me if I'm wrong pls
We use the Deep all the time in strikes and raids as mechanics plus dozens of weapons and armor use the power of the Deep. When you step back to reflect on our actions as Guardians, we exhibit the traits of the Queen of Armies as described by Toland. We are far from being the warriors of Light that we think we are.

Throat?

We used thorn, no reason why we can't use the darkness
