In my opinion skill based matchmaking is just too much. I'm not even an above average player but it seems like I'm constantly being matched with sweaty ass pros. It feels like the matchmaking system will put you in a game with players that have better stats than you if it can't find a game with players that have more or less equal stats. Basically, I'm trying to improve but with skill based matchmaking putting me up against stacked teams with far better stats than mine, I'm finding it hard to recognize any progression.... e.g. when the competition is inversely proportional to a persons skill, noticeable improvements are few and far between.
What ends up happening is my stats never go up which = never being able to find players that are willing to play with me for game modes like trials or 3's playlists. I'm constantly experiencing mental exhaustion due to the lack of satisfaction when playing pvp.
I feel like a high school athlete that is constantly being tossed into games with college athletes. Constant sweat fest matches will burn people out and I love Destiny PVP, so I do not want to get burned out. What do you guys think?

You were being matched against people of your own skill level, so if you feel like these matches are sweaty it is because you are not equipped to be at that skill level. Let your kill death ratio drop down a little bit naturally and you'll be where you should be 😂 I personally guarantee the skill-based matchmaking is a good thing for you. Isolates you from some of the best players.

14 RespuestasIf you think this is still SBMM you are poorly mistaken. There is little to none skill based in yhe matchmaking, you only get crushed because sometimes you get unlucky and get matched against better people which happened cuz there's no SBMM, today I played around 4 hours of skirmish with my brother (team of two) and we didnt meet any sweaty on the way, then we got a 3rd and we just got so many mercy rules and people rage quitting in every game. Trust me no SBMM anymore anywhere to be seen.
-
SBMM only place is ToO which it does based off the wins. CBMM for regular crucible. Save the sweats for trials.

26 RespuestasNo, SBMM makes Crucible fair. ...And identifies the weaklings who are just looking to win without any effort and cry incessantly when matched with people their own skill level.

2 RespuestasEditado por Dash Woodson: 6/1/2016 7:09:01 AMYea man I agree.. I came back to Destiny after taking about 9 months or so off with a KDR of 1.89.. I was immediately astonished by how great everyone had gotten while I was gone before realizing I was thrown in skill-based matches. And the KD is steadily in a free fall haha.. Now I didn't see this as a problem at first because I'd rather be playing against people with thumbs, but soon I came to realize that these players have been playing the entire time I've been gone so their guardians are equipped with all the best gear and I was being undoubtedly outclassed. Eventually I became burnt out (again) by every single game being try hard... no leisure matches and having fun with friends, just going balls out like it's a world championship. I would consider myself very good, but the problem now is unless we equipped ourselves with the best guns, nobody stands a chance (I'm slowly getting better equipment but have yet to get top gear). It used to be a wide range of weapons that could win gunfights with good aim, now it seems that in order to do well consistently you've got to use specific guns and that ish is lame.. I'll move on to a different shooter

3 RespuestasWhile SBMM may make matchmaking "fair", it also makes the game(s) much more tedious. Having to go into a game and never be able to relax gets tiring, no matter how competitive you are... And I am quite a competitive person, and quite good at this game, but I find the crucible growing more and more lackluster. Just my opinion, no need to get angry, but let me know what you guys think as well...

14 RespuestasWhy in the hell does destiny think I'm good?.... I suck my KD is bad but I continue to get paired up with the top 1% if this is SBMM then destiny is doing it wrong

We all know it's here to stay, otherwise Bungie had removed/changed it already. I think that some form of sbmm has to exist, but how the crucible is for me is not fun, I have to try really really hard to go 0,6 - 0,9 (average is 1,5)
that is so fun....
1 RespuestaI can't play a game in any game type without needing to equipped Mida, rarely do I see anyother weapons other than Mida, Hawksaw or Suros PDX being used, if I want to compete I have to use them too!

2 RespuestasI got put against over 315 light people with levels 11 and 18 by my side. Read my post: the crucible matchmaking is such bullshit for more info on my opinion here. I totally agree

1 RespuestaEditado por o Taut o: 5/31/2016 5:17:54 PMIs it not possible that what everyone is claiming is sbmm is just the result of an older game with a smaller population. This happens in most FPS. The longer they've been out you end up with mostly hardcore players who know the maps really well and are pretty good. Most of the low skill players get burnt out and leave.

It leaves you no room to expirement and have fun without absolutely getting your shit kicked in. Every match, be prepared to equip top tier weapons to be able to compete.

Before sbmm, year 1. Everyone battled for there stats. Took loses but kept fighting. Sbmm is just easy for newbs. But evens sweaties used 2 get stomped. Shyt makes no since for a dumb azz 2 agree on sbmm. Like wtf, 2ho wants 2 super bowl sweat every God dam match. Nfl an nba even have less skilled teams. Kids need 2 grow up. We need sweaty ranked playlist and casual for newbs. Simply all we need
-
SBMM is fair and should be left in the game. Its not fair players like I can easily shit on casual players and ruin their crucible experience simply because I play more and try harder. If you're a sweaty than you should play against other sweeties to improve or to simply make things fair. People that want SBMM put just want to shit on the little guy to make themselves feel better with believing their good at a video game.

I put together a rag tag bunch of gaurdians and were going to roam the crucible trolling and lol-ing 😂 Pay us a vist! Wanna see what happens when everyone uses a khostov as we all run sunsingers with SOLAR nades?! Any other ideas? Were up for it! twitch.tv/jetspiratepeace

I'm having a really hard time right now in the salvage playlist. It feels more sweaty than trials of Osiris by far. I play solo and it seems every match its me and two randos against a fireteam of .three lol or like last match we are winning until one of my team members leaves towards the end of the match and we lose. Damn those 100 salvage wins should have did that shit in year one. Ha

SBMM is great for the casual players. It matches them with people of their skill and protects them from higher skilled players. The problem with SBMM is for the higher level players, the higher your KD the pool of players you get matched against gets smaller. This causes you to get matched against players from further away because there is not as many matches with good connections. This is a bigger problem in countries like New Zealand where i am and there is already a smaller player base, than say USA. The fact is that if there is no dedicated servers the matchmaking should be solely connection based so the games have the best chance to be lag free. Trust me i would be all for SBMM if there was dedicated servers then the lag would not be a problem. I dont want to stomp on people, i just want to play people with an even footing in terms of connection. There is nothing worse than playing a match against a team of laggy good players. Before anyone says it is my connection, i am green bar 95% of the time its the others in the game that are red.

Idk maybe patrol is more your speed

2 RespuestasHonestly, if you want to get better, then you need to go up against players that are on your level or slightly better. How do you expect to improve if you beat up on players that are worse than you?
-
6 RespuestasWhy should I be punished for having a high kd in the crucible. I should not get my cheeks destroyed in trials because I destroy noobs on the daily in salvage and rumble
-
I'm not so sure that we are in sbmm. I ran with my clan most of IB. Yesterday I ran my titan with a bunch of randoms and it was one beat down after another. I did ok,had a couple good games but my randoms... every single one got crushed. If it's skill based wouldn't the games be closer?.

3 RespuestasI completely agree. Skill based match making ensures that the people who are amazing at the game are the people who will go flawless every week. What about others who don't have the time or maybe the skill to play against people who are amazing? Will they just never go flawless. To me it seems like an uneven system.
