Every day, I hear about how we'll be going on space expeditions to planets in the near future, but getting to said planet will take over 300 years. We're just entering the era of space travel and none of us will live to see anything great. It's really depressing. Maybe science will find a way to cheat death before we pass. I hope so, I'd love to be one of the first to set foot on a whole new planet. Being able to see whole new geographic locations. New landscapes and mountains to conquer. New species of creatures to study. Ideas we can only dream about...

1 RespuestaThis post is so ignorant. >You won't be one of the first to walk on another planet regardless if you're immortal >No attention to other serious concequences of immortality if we don't make it to another planet >Assuming there is another habitable planet, like earth, that's sustainable >I feel like a loser so I'm going to become an atheist idk what I'm talking about Grow up and find a realistic life path instead of wasting your time staring at the sky.

You won't have to worry about going into space, humanity will wipe itself out here on Earth. Death is natural, don't be scared of it. Think of it merely as an opportunity to have your last questions answered.

There is a group of scientists that say the can find a biological immortality within the next 25 years. But it will require a month or so stay in the hospital and you will have to go back every 10 years. But it will eventually become a few days stay and return farther down the line.

1 RespuestaBut think of this. You were born just in time to browse dank memes. And thats all you need.

Well there's some -blam!-ed up stuff that makes your heart beat "forever" which doesn't matter anymore because there are so many things that kill now
-
Then don't.

1 RespuestaWe still have all of that to discover here on earth. Also why the hell does it sound like a good idea to migrate humans to another planet if we can't even keep ours in balance. Humans will forever try to run from the problems we create instead of fixing them and learning.

1 RespuestaWe're getting pretty close to a form of immortality. This form will only provide protection against aging.

I wouldn't worry about it Humanity will kill itself long before we get to the nearest star, of this I have no doubt, both because Humanity is violent and stupid and Interstellar travel is very hard =p

I see what you're saying, and I agree. We were born too early for space travel. But in a way, death excites me. Not in a suicidal way, but more in that I find it to be the ultimate adventure. What's on the other side? Maybe nothing. But I've seen enough to believe that death can't be the end for consciousness. Pondering the possibilities of death outside of the realm of organized religion is incredibly thrilling to me. But I'm weird like that.

The first person to live to be 1000 has already been born, given scientific advancement doesn't slow down for whatever reason
