Please address this. Playing with HC's means accepting a RNG element in whether or not you get a kill.
I have an Eyasaluna with Rangefinder and Rifled Barrel. Still suffers from phantom bullets at mid-range and beyond.
Just not fun.

Edit 2: well IB is a wrap. May play a little with my Titan tonight, but brought my Hunter and Warlock to lvl 5. In about 95% of the matches I used my Eyasaluna. Believe I did reasonably well with it, although my K/D will probably not be 1.8 as with the last Banner (hope Bungie did track "Objectively Correct" medals instead of SotW).
HC did feel a bit off in a lot of situations: I lost gunfights where in a worst case scenario we should have traded. Instead, after two hits the third did not come through, leaving the other guardian with just a sliver of health. Annoying! All in all, good fun (and a few more gray hairs from frustration ;-).

There is no disputing that they exist, but they may not be as ubiquitous as first thought. Under careful examination, the vast majority of my 'phantom bullets' are in fact missed shots. Others may be the result of lag, whilst the few that remain, may be open to question. The easiest way to negate phantom bullets is to work on your precision. Precision is not just hitting your target in the head, it is the whole process of target acquisition, aiming, firing and killing your intended target. The key skill, is to learn how to link each shot together, making the most of your hand cannons fire rate, without triggering the bloom effect. BUNGIE has stated that 'shots must be paced', if you are experiencing a lot of bloom, then you must not be pacing your shots. You can 'ride the bloom', but it takes practice to master that skill.

I have saved entire games so I could look back and check if it was on them when it missed, and sometimes I really did miss but usually it just went to another universe.

Bump - I have been getting a lot of this too. It's frustrating when you should have got the kill and it does not register resulting in you getting killed instead.

3 RespuestasThat's how it is nowadays!! Bam bam bam with a Hand Cannon. First shot good Second shot good Third shot sent to universe 6. Enemy hops away with a health bar so low you could spit on him to kill him. You rage and try again. Same result! But hey you get a bunch of assists!!!

3 RespuestasOne thing i been seeing a pattern with unregistered bullets its all ways the kill shot that don't register. Iv been noticing that a lot with the first curse and other hand cannons as well.

1 RespuestaPhantom bullets are a problem no doubt. I've been using the byronic hero with luck in the chamber and that gun is a beast. Hell it was a beast before the perks were unlocked.

in iron banner i had a full magazine of phantom rounds, i watched the vapour trails just go into people but there was no impact spark and they didn't flinch or take damage although to be fair on the day it happened my internet was having issues for some reason so it could be that

I have a clip in one of my highlights videos in which I hit two headshots and then fire 5 perfectly aimed shots into the person and have them all miss, luckily I won the gunfight with the last round in the mag.

Being as I'm currently using only handcannons for primary I have seen this a lot sometimes to the point of discharging 5-6 bullets to get a kill with hawkmoon, Lord high fixer seems a little better but still random compared to other gun variants.

It must still not be in any way a hand cannon world. I don't think I saw a single hawkmoon in the entire banner. I saw a few hand cannons but not many. I am sure I saw more fusion rifles and side arms being used as primary weapons than I did hand cannons in the banner. Shows how Bungie is completely unable or unwilling to promote the use of primary weapons in the game.

We need a team of voutleers to show this happening.

They really need to fix phantom bullets, I can live with the damage drop off, but just straight missing (got killed many times cuz of it)
