What happened to helping others. What happened to the destiny community?

What makes me sad is that, I (as well as many others) still havn't completed the kings fall raid. Mainly because I don't know it well enough. Its not just kings fall, its A lot of thing. (Skolas, The Vault of Glass, Crota, Oryx, Trials, ect.) Nobody is really willing to help either. Whenever I attempt these everyone leaves. What happened to my fellow year 1 Guardians who would be glad to help people out. The ones who would kindly help lower levels understand The Vault of Glass. I mean really?! I'm a 325 Hunter and still Haven't completed the Vault of Glass or Kings fall. (I lost connection at atheon.) D: Now I also can't find anyone who's willing to stick with me through the Vault. Whats gonna happen when the next raid comes out? Year 1 of destiny was fun and exciting, everyone was kind and helpful. Year 2 of destiny is Exhausting, Nobody's really wiling to help others. Pathetic. D:< Don't be Selfish. If you find somebody who is having trouble. Please, Just help them, Teach them. Be a Real Guardian. Once they learn they can go and help out others and so on. Be kind. Play well. Give. If you do, the people who you have helped, They might go on to remember you and admire you. Trust me, Do the right thing.

    • I help others all the time. I don't have a ton of raid clears because I haven't made alot of attempts, but usually i take 1 or 2 raid virgins through with me as long as they can listen and follow directions

I don't mind helping someone in VoG, since that's the only raid I know like the back of my hand. And I'm fairly patient with people "not getting it" so long as it's just 1 or 2 people. But if the person or people just want to d*ck around and not try, then I'm out. Loudly. One time a guy said he was new but his friend was used to it. The friend agreed to cover the right-side with the newbie. After failing for the 4th time of them saying oops just that one guy got through at the end, sorry. I decided to die and watch them. THey were off jumping and exploring and dancing. Not even defending their zone. I had a few choice words and left. Don't waste people's time. Either try (even if it's failing) or leave.

    • I've had mixed experiences. Yesterday a random joined me to help with a quest, really chill, down-to-earth guy. But then today I'm farming Court, and a group of 3 come along so I think, "Awesome, they can help with some Antiquated runes." I've never had a bad experience there before, usually we just switch off and everyone is happy. But no, these guys join me and proceed to get the sword, then jump off the platform with it so it gets lost until the knight respawns. So I would grab it before one of them, and they would just stand there and not take down the boss' shield. I ran some of their runes thinking it would change, it didn't. Pissed me off. Not so much that they screwed me, but that they were so unwilling and unfriendly to help a fellow Guardian out.

      • What you're lacking isn't an education, because YouTube.com can learn you raiding. What you're lacking is resourcefulness and initiative. Back when this game first released, we'd go server jumping, pestering players at every tower along the way with "M2AP" requests for raid groups. That was initiative. Then DestinyLFG.com was featured and I've never went without a raid team. YouTube for mechanics, DestinyLFG.com for teams. Easy. As far as "helping others" I have completed hundreds of raids and help newbies through their first time. I carried no less than 30 teams through Skolas for their Moments of Triumph. What killed "helping" for me was lack of gratitude, argumentative noobs and rude players. Now I only help out players that are recommended to me by friends. Helped a guy get his first Black Spindle just yesterday, in fact... But I digress. There are plenty of others willing to help. Seek them out.

          • I was treated the same at first. Y1 was a lot more solo stuff so I entertained myself. Y2 if forced interactions. I started finding new people and helped them and they helped back. Most are really good now and I still suck but they help me whenever I need. It used to be fun to log on and play a strike with people. Showing off abilities and grinding for that great drop. Now it manipulated KD stats and impatient -blam!-tards. Price of sales increase is quality. With the masses comes immaturity.

          • The majority of them quit. And now it's just people looking for that team of people who have all done it a million times. I personally don't raid but can describe to people exactly how to do it even though I've only done it 3 times on hard. But ya the nice people left and we got left with mostly selfish asswipes who just want there loot and to go back to being a double shotgun sunsinger in pvp.

            • I feel ya a little bit. My wife and I are day 1 players. Y1 was a completely different game in about all aspects, including the overall friendly VoG community. Granted there were still random rage heads, but it was the Ragers who would be kicked and not the friendly, fun guys! Oh how the times have changed. I understand KF is longer and a little more challenging, but damn the attitudes are unreal. It's not the kids either, it's these over-the-top adults!

I use to help almost all the time when I had a group. We would Carry anyone for special events and the raids in the game but because of the lack of content, we all disbanded and started playing other great games. I still help on the small stuff but I can't do king's fall or VoG. Just Crota's end. (It's really easy now) It's hard finding people who are willing help now a days. Some people join clans to get them started but they're mostly inactive most of the time

            • There are actually plenty of people who are more than willing to help out. We are just over looked for the most part. I try to do extra raids in order to take people through, never require light levels or guns. Hopefully the community will get stronger but its rather unlikely.

            • Year one player... Same issues... Have never beaten Crota, I think I've beaten Atheon once... No Skolas, no Oryx, no experience in the raid... Very impatient players, judgemental... Kick me for not knowing, ironically, how can I ever learn, If I don't experience the end game... I just do strikes, and enjoy the co-op...

Its not the same Destiny dude. Not everyone likes the Kings Fall raid. Its the longest and most mechanical of the raids so far. Also a lot of Y1 players quit at various stages of year 1 and year 2. When the raid came out you had more chance of getting a group to help you in Sept/october, and we all learn the raid together. Now the raid is a chore even for the experienced players. I can't bring myself to do KF HM any more. I spent last night doing a PoE as a titan with a Stormcaller warlock and a bladedancer hunter. I did the 90K score in 2 runs, but I basically got half the teams points every run. I was doing boss damage, I was rez-ing my team mates, I was popping super, getting assists, basically carrying the team. Same story on my hunter and warlock. I think I just quit playing Destiny, Got 1 character to 335, and 2 to 334. Got all the y2 exotics with the exclusion of Lord of wolves, P&T and TLW, got all the armour, and 1 faction exotic classmark I have been stuck with 3 noobs at totems (not even the 1st boss) for 2.5 hours last October, trying to teach them, like I did with VoG. I stopped playing after that as I spent more time in orbit looking for a group, than I did playing the game. I just want to get shit done now, cause the raid takes too long. VoG was fun. I liked taking noobs through.. Wasn;t like KF. Totems 1 person dies, well thats a wipe. Warpriest, 1 person dies, well we don't have enough DPS to take him down in 3 cycles, just wipe. Same story with Golgoroth, daughters not so much, but oryx 1 person dies, its a wipe. That and like 60% of the raid is jumping puzzles that you can't just cheese like VoG if you couldn't do it. Watch you tube video guides of how to do the raid until your eyes bleed. Then lie on LFG about your experience of doing the raid. I can't bring myself to do KF HM any more.
