Guess you didn't played/remember the OG iron banner, you'd be luck if you dropped an legendary engram in one month of crucible, nothing dropped in the post game, you had to buy them at Saladin, plus it wasn't till HoW that ib gear was cap (from a few pieces here and there) if i remember right.
As for me, i am likeing this new approach to the ib loot table. Feel free to disagree, i am just giving my two cents.

IB gear was at cap from the vendor and drops (rare that they were) When i started playing in January 15, so basically all of y1 2015

IB gear would let you get to 30. Not OG IB, but way before HoW.

Now you said you're right. I remember getting the boots and arms in the forever 29 days in ib, and my TDB set was a blend of CE and ib as well.

I remember the first ib. I took forever to rank up and the only way to get rep was winning and when you did win you got 20 pts Lol. But I didn't reset like it does now. I have a set of the original ib gear for my titan

Hehe HoW was a walk in the Park compared to leveling in vanilla/CE. Minus skolas, that mofo was no joke. :(

You didn't even need beat skolas though, with 3 characters you got 3 etheric light, 3 weapon cores, 3 armor cores every week No skolas, 2 weeks tops to get 1 to max, within 3 weeks of super passive casual play all 3 could be max lol It was way easier than even now

100% didn't reset, I wont forget how long it took to gain rep. What a grind lol

Lol i will never forget the grind, those were the days! Gives me such a nostalgia thinking on it now, but god how much i raged at the SUROS/shotgun fest that was the first iron banners.
