PSA: Overwatch IS a MOBA
Guis, guis, settle down. You're thinking, "But MR Easy Guns sir, Overwatch isn't even kind of a MOBA. What kind of drugs have you slithered in to your veins this morning to make you come to such a moronic conclusion?" Well, I'll tell you! It was heroin. But, that's beside the point.
I'm here to tell you that it [i]DOES NOT matter[/i] if Overwatch isn't even kind of like a MOBA.
We're now officially changing what a MOBA is because some Failure on the Bungle forums says so.
The MOBA genre now include these select few titles:

So if you like MOBAs, get to buying those games that can now be added to your MOBA roster!

I was never a fan of the Mefense of Bhe Ancients game archetype, but if I'm not mistaken over watch has more similarities to MOBAs than it does Call of Duty. There's "heros" with abilities and special traits. It's online only. Microtransactions are coming. It encourages teamwork with hero abilities that play off one another. Competitive oriented design right from the start. Seems to me, the only difference is perspective and a few gameplay changes. I.E. Shorter match mechanics, faster paced combat, less objective base mechanics. So in conclusion, the "failure" is right in the way that it combines two defined genres and tries to blend them. It's more of an FPS than a MOBA. But denying that it doesn't have some traits of a MOBA makes you seem as ignorant as the "failure." I'm not saying it [i]is[/i] a MOBA, I'm just saying it [i]kinda[/i] is a MOBA. -
2 RespuestasIn his defense the "failure" specifies that it's only a MOBA if the game is pvp only. Hence overwatch, tf2, Smite and LOL are MoBa's by definition.

Yeah he is a true "failure" no doubt. He was even dense enough to claim that there wasn't any crafting in No Man's Sky. When I corrected him he stated it's called "building" not crafting lol. Let's just say a shit troll debate ensued about the differences between them. #CantCraftaHouse!
