For the single player, specifically.
Maybe I just missed all the posts about it when it released, but I've noticed a severe lack of topics about the new DOOM. I've decided I want to change that.
Discuss whatever you happened to like (or hell, even dislike) about the single player. Or talk about the multiplayer. I can't control what you say.
Personally, I really, really like how they portrayed Doomguy. Dude's super pissed over the whole "you people opened another -blam!-ing hell portal when will you learn" thing going on, but he isn't irrational about it. He knows exactly what he needs to do defeat Hell (again) and he does so with brutal efficiency. Granted, Samuel is pretty much the only reason Doomguy knew what to do, but it's pretty clear Doomguy couldn't give less of a shit about Samuel. The best part of all of this? I know all of this about him and he never says a word once. It's fantastic.
Edit: oh shit hey this kinda blew up behind my back didn't it
Thanks, everyone

Looks like people are loving this game. I've haven't got it yet I chose uncharted 4 over it and I'm loving it. Doom is going to my next game for sure.
-
I hope there's a dlc or expanalone that has us stuck in hell trying to find a way back to Mars so we can rip Hayden apart.
-
Bastion is balanced.
-
I bought it 2 days ago
the campaign is -blam!-ing fantastic
3 RespuestasMy favorite part was when Hayden told you to disable to Argent energy system. Doom Guy fiddled with it a little bit, then said "fuck it" and just trashed it.
-
I just beat the second boss last night, the first part of the fight took me quite a few tries to beat.
-
My favorite parts where when doom Guy deliberately disregard Hayden and trashes his shit. "You have no idea what you've done." Do I look like I care??? Campaign was a blast! Although I'd like a difficulty that's harder and you take more damage, but also deal more damage and there's more enemies. Kinda why I play Brutal Doom on PC on heavy metal or whatever it's called.

3 RespuestasGreat game I've had about 20 friends ask me how badly it failed, I tell them it didn't They don't believe me.
should we rip and tear?
-
Currently listening to the DOOM OST, it's so great. Mick Gordon did an amazing job.
-
I like when Samuel Hayden says "Thank you Vega" and you proceed to hell.
-
6 RespuestasThe game is dead, so there are no posts on it.

Editado por Cortana Five: 5/26/2016 6:49:38 PM2016 Doom is like video game comfort food in the best way. Almost like are gory hug.

I will say this right now, I very much appreciate the green lights on many of the edges that you can grip to. Some of these environments would be a headache to navigate without them. Thank you, green lights. Haven't finished the campaign yet, but it's easily some of the most fun I've had with a shooter in a long time. I think id Software has managed to recapture the essence of what made the original DOOM games so great. It's fast, it's brutal, it's loud, and it's a blast. Even the background music did a good job fitting the tone.

Such a good game, even multiplayer is fun
-
It's really good. Quite the shocker too. Everything was pointing to this game being a disaster. I think even Bethesda thought the game was going to bomb. I think it obliterating its expectations had led to maybe just a tad bit of people over inflating the game. It's really, really, really good. It'll easily be one of 2016's top few games. I highly recommend it.

1 RespuestaMy only complaint is glory kills. I'm playing on the second hardest difficulty and it's almost like I have to glory kill every enemy (which isn't hard) to stay alive so it kind of limits the ways to mix up gameplay imo. But I'm not very far in so who knows what to expect. I'm loving the multiplayer as it's something fresh but it could use some tweaking

7 RespuestasAm I the only one who absolutely loves the multiplayer?
-
Actually, I think the marine was only humoring Samuel. He has -blam!-ed up hells shit several times already, he knows what he is doing.
-
3 RespuestasThe only complaint I have for the campaign is the rare moments when the game locks you in a room to hear some character talk to you. The multiplayer is enjoyable enough for me, I just wish that they would remove loadouts/perks and bump up the movement speed a little bit more.
-
I haven't touched the mp or snap map. Just don't have time for it at the moment. That campaign though... It's a thing of beauty. The forces of hell tremble before you, and nothing stands a chance of defeating you. It's the perfect amount of over the top absurdity and hilarious cheesiness.
-
Absolutely loved the campaign. Snap map was great as well from what little I played of it. Multiplayer.... It's good. Not great imo. Fun for a few matches when you just want to be chaotic, but in the end it doesn't have the replayability for me. Still a plus for the game, but definitely it's weakest part. I lent my copy to friend after beating the campaign and finding all collectibles. It was an great experience, but I have nothing left to do in it aside from try on the hardest difficulty (not too interested in that though). Overwatch has finally come around to give me an amazing PvP experience unlike anything I've played in a long time, so I'm addicted to that right now.

Too busy playing when not at work. One word for it in my opinion. Fantastic, both campaign and mm.
-
5 RespuestasGot boring for me near the end.... It's weirdly repetitive. Though Lazarus Lab on was the best bit....needed more bosses. Decent game though, loved the speed.
-
5 RespuestasSingle Player is great, multiplayer is very solid, snap maps can potentially have hundreds of hours of entertainment either playing different maps or creating them. One of the best games released this year thus far.
-
Blood and gore and intense violence doesn't do anything for me. I don't have a dislike for it either though. My favourite series is Mass Effect, where it's pretty much the exact opposite of Doom. Heavy on story, characters and conversations. Buuuuut I know I can have fun with a lot of types of games. My friend I game share with got Doom, and it's the most fun I've had in an FPS in a long time. Campaign, multiplayer, SnapMap... it's all good. And I love me some Mick Gordon \(°-°)/
-
Too busy playing to talk about it. That said, it is a lot of fun, especially at first. I hope it stays like it, because I'm on the first level of Hell and it's starting to wear a tiny bit thin. That might just be the result of playing it so much in the last two days, though.
