I guess you'll be disappointed to learn that this isn't an opinion. It's a fact, I have numerous sources, one being weisnewski himself, soooo.... All AA is, is the slow of your reticule as it passes over an enemy. Nothing more, nothing less. AA doesn't "lock onto the head" or "make the hitbox larger" as many believe. The only reason people think AA is a problem is because they don't bother to do their own research. They hear some guy on the forums saying AA gets you free kills, and they immediately go "hey you know what, he's right, AA sucks!" Without even bothering to look it up themselves. Hope you were enlightened. Got those sources of you still don't believe me :)

I write software for a living and we do something similar when the mouse pointer enters the boundary of a control that receives input say from a click, or scroll. In a nutshell you write a simple class call it SmartPointer() So then we'd write it like this and I'm making up my own language here. You'd have to go a long way to hurt my feelings. I've done things when I was younger and down-range that would make you pee your pants. I was just sharing that a very similar behavior exists in the WIN32API. Google it. Subclassing mouse pointers in C/C++ and you'll see words like thunking, boilerplate, pointers and more. The WIN32API is where the true power is. It's totally badass. So say ALL YOU WANT ABOUT ME because I won't be reading it but sure as there is a hell nobody else will read your reply either. Hey. In an effort to add some truth to all of this I dug up a C# example of how to do this. In real life I've been slowing the Cursor when it's over a WINCTRL for more than 20 years and I started by coding a procedure that processed all the incoming windows messages looking for Cursor.Enter and Cursor.Leave. If I detected a Cursor.Enter I immediately stored the Cursor.X and Cursor.Y and if that coordinate was within the bounds of ANY responsive control an example is a button and a non-responsive control would be a lable. So if it was over a button, text box, etc... My message pump called a function I wrote called AdjustCursorSpeed(int PercentAdjustment) that took an integer value and slowed the cursor by that integer as a percent. So if I called AdjustCursorSpeed(50) the pointer slows by 50% on Mouse.Enter. On Mouse.Leave we clean up by calling AdjustCursorSpeed(100) which restores the full speed of the cursor.
