I'm going through a really rough patch at the moment so decided to pick up the original Dark Souls to try and give me something to entertain myself with. Desite getting my ass handed to me, I'm getting addicted to the feeling of victory when you complete an area and slay the boss at the end. I look forward to jumping back into its world despite being so dark and lonely everytime I am away from it. I'm not sure why this is but it just helps to lift my mood. Is it weird for a game to give you this kind of feeling? After all, I know it's only a silly little video game but I just can't help but run towards the escapism. All I know is that it would feel amazing to defeat the Ornstein and Smough's of the real world... Does anybody else get this kind of feeling from games? I'm interested to know.
