Did Destiny live up to the hype?
Did Destiny meet and exceed your expectations?
Did you feel Bungie did all they could to have a legacy befitting the original Halo?
The poll is above.

Yes. I went in expecting a beautiful world, smooth gameplay, and sweet loot. I got all that. Sure, the story was barebones, but so was Combat Evolved. Hell, none of the Halo games have a particularly exceptional story aside from Reach and 4, the rest is in the books. So yeah, they exceeded my expectations.

1 RespuestaEditado por Worthywonder: 5/20/2016 12:54:26 AMIf you pick yes... You are lying to yourself. Destiny was supposed to be a world with limitless imagination and very little boundaries. Watch the E3 trailers.

I honestly didn't know what to expect. Usually I play a game from about an hour to three days before deciding that I don't like it and bury it in the video game graveyard (top shelf of my closet). Destiny is stored almost exclusively in the drive of my console. So far so good I guess.

it's way better than i could have ever expected. i almost passed it up to get an xbox instead. god bless my brother for convincing me to keep the ps4 destiny bundle.

1 RespuestaI recently started my destiny journey, loving it so far tho :)

5 RespuestasSparrows with guns :/

Although I enjoyed the game it wasn't that great. I think the reviews hit the mark a 7-7.5/10 game
-
Overall, I enjoyed most of my time with the game, but game is nowhere near what it could and should've been.
-
I picked up Destiny last January during The Dark Below. Met my expectations and in some ways exceeded them. Been pretty much the only game I play beside Borderlands occasionally.

Editado por Moxxis Playtoy: 5/19/2016 6:37:20 PMNo, No, and No. The game was good but didn't live up to those questions.

Can't expect this to turn out how it should. Not many people knew how epic destiny was intended to be. Let alone year 2 folk.
-
Poll is somewhat biased. You are asking people that are still playing. Ask all the ones that quit and see what the answer is LOL

4 RespuestasNo, it isn't the game we were promised, rich lore backed up with an immersive story and an open world environment with no boundaries..

1 RespuestaI honestly expected more when I first got the game. After about 3 months of playing it I saw how Bungie interacted with the fan base and I realized that they were pretty new to this. This Is a very unique game and correct me if I am wrong but I believe this the first time Bungie has ever tried a game like this before. So I am really anticipating the future of this franchise though things may be a bit rough at the moment.

1 RespuestaIt's a love/hate relationship.

1 RespuestaEditado por Happyjoey547014: 5/19/2016 11:35:59 AMNo but that may have been unfair. To expect bungie to hit a home run in a new field is a little unreasonable. The problem I think most face is when you compare it to other games. You get used to a standard and destiny doesn't really live up to the unbelievable stories of games like halo and mass effect so it suffers backlash for that when it promised so much but kept so much under wraps. You combine that with the shady antics of activision and the controversial outcome of the employees and you get one hell of as recipe for disaster. However when I take a step back, I did enjoy a lot of what I played and played the shit out of the game. I think most are just blinded by the expectations they had and bungie brought a lot of that on themselves.

1 RespuestaThe second i switched on the game, turned round and died while running into the 'open world' was the second I knew the game would not be as advertised. The 'cinematic storytelling' or lack there of, was the next next slap in the face for what is meant to be AAA title. The resetting of my progress with each of the first dlc packs. The 'leaving behind' of basically the whole of year 1, after specifically saying 'nothing will be left behind'. The list goes on, but I don't have time. Potentially great game, still has that potential, Bungie seriously -blam!-ed it up. I would sack them for sure if I was their boss.
-
I had very low expectations, so I was pleasantly surprised.

Editado por DANIELIBEW952: 5/19/2016 7:34:25 AMI bought it a few days after release not knowing anything about it. Made a few friends and met a lot of great ( some not so great ) people. This game has given me around 3000 hours of entertainment so I would say yes I got more then I expected from it. This game is one of a kind and I personally think bungie doesn't know what direction they want to take the game. Should they make this game for casuals and upset the hardcore players or make it for the hardcore players and push away potential new players. It's a fine line to make everyone happy and I feel they can figure it out.

Before the update yup

Editado por Synergy-Seven: 5/19/2016 5:24:51 AMDefinitely. Critics and fans shat over this game before Beta release, so I wasn’t expecting much. I definitely got my moneys worth however.
-
Not at first. But over time this love hate relationship has been worth it.
-
My biggest problem is they can't release content fast enough Which tells me I can't get enough of it So yes, it exceeded my expectations, which were very low going into it.
-
Considering I was in Afghanistan and didn't get to play the game until the taken king came out I thought it was fine.
-
Considering I had no idea what it was when I bought it. Yes
