A raid CAN NOT have matchmaking. The mechanics simply can't tolerate it. My friends son who is 9 uses his account to play and has no business playing in a raid. Nightfall and Challenge no question they should be match made.

Does not matter with complex mechanics they will not put matchmaking in a raid.

Then they will fail , but you should give people the option rather than letting these activities shut them down before they even get started . It affects no one who already raids with a dedicated team or clan , so it's a victimless option in my book

The problem isn't the game the problem is the players some people are just trolls and would make it their sole purpose to get in and force wipes on a team. The only possible way optional matchmaking would work is to have a random person selected fireteam leader but then that causes I was kicked because problems. Or If you had voting options where all 5 members had to vote a person be kicked and that leads to the same problem. It just can't work. There has to be a way to police who is in the team. The app update is their way to help find a team because you can gather a team outside the activity and do more research when sending invites.

I agree a kick option should be in place. they could just do it like the Division, where the player who started the FT is the leader with power to kick . yes it would get abused some by those who kick just before rewards. but just do like we already do... report to Bungie, report to PSN/XBL, Mute on PSN/XBL. now I am assuming PSN works like XBL and if you've got them muted it will never matchmake you with them.

It's hard enough getting a competent team via lfg for a raid try starting a raid with a random group which could be comprised of a 9 year old on their parents account because they selected a match made raid. Nightfall and COE which are not match made can be soloed therefore a person is more easily carried. Also being match made if a member lags out then a random could get brought in before your team member could get back in. With there being no fireteam leader in a match made activity that poses a problem. And lastly there are too many trolls who would get their giggles from going into a match made raid to purposely make the team fail. This is several reasons why Bungie likely will never do matchmaking on raids and I agree with them on that.
