The soldiers resort to firing off SV grenades and missiles in a attempt to kill the attackers
SV?
-
Silage Vortex, the grenades work by sending a burst of energy around itself before pulling in things
-
ah, I'd rather you use full words when using tech I'm not familiar with
Again, not knowing where the enemy was made it difficult for any of their attacks to be effective. It had the assailants on their toes, however.
-
oku
They use the small distractions to send a few guys up the cliffs through the use of teleporters.
-
Those sent up the cliffs suffered a fate similar to those below, their bodies torn to shreds by unseen attacks. Their numbers were dwindling rapidly. They needed to find a new strategy, and quickly.
-
The remaining soldiers bring in mechs, using the heavy armor to tank the shots while hunting the enemy
-
With the arrival of heavy armour on the scene, the Triumvirate made use of their own. Miles away from the battlefield, the Basilisk artillrry platforms opened fire. Although these weren't as sophisticated or esthetically advanced as their other vehicles, they were probably the most fearsome piece of arsenal they owned. Firing the massive, all-powerful earthshaker rounds, each shot fired by one of these four cannons on wheels was enough to create a large crater, with enough power to send infantry flying apart and leave vehicles reeling from the massive damage. The whistling of the rounds in the air let their arrival be heard, as they slammed into the ground, on the Serpens forces.
-
Luckily the mechs were outfitted with Silage Vortex openers, allowing them to dodge most of the attacks before heading up the cliffs
-
Once they reached the upper cliffs, the real battle broke out. Several mechanical beings, each of about 20 meters tall, appeared on the scene, de-cloaking in front of the Serpens mechs. Each of them fired strange beam from their mouths, cutting up anything in their path.
-
While these new threats had size and damage on their side, the Serpens were agile and able to dodge most of the attacks. They start attack them or probe for weak spots.
-
Underestimating the gears was a bad idea. They were as agile and fast as an infantry unit, being able to dodge most attacks. Along with their water beam, they launched hunter-killer missiles that tracked relentlessly, destroying mechs upon hitting them.
-
The remaining mechs activate their overdrive systems, causing them to blur and dance through hits while their weapons dealt even more damage.
-
They managed to destroy a few, but for every destroyed Ray, two more took their place. They weaved through weapons fire, waiting for the overdrive to run its course.
-
The mechs lose the effect after a bit, but a few has exposed their cores and rush at the gears.
-
They are quickly sniped out of their course by the extreme pressure water jets that cut the mechs in half.
-
The damage causes the cores to explode, creating large craters in the area
-
Using rocket boosters, most of tge gears manage to escape the blasts.
-
The remaining mechs create a shield around one that looks like the leader as it shifts into a more cannon like form, preparing to fire off a beam of pure energy
-
Firing off their hunter-killer missiles, they fly above the shield of enemies to crash straight into the leader.
-
It manages to fire off the beam before being destroyed. The energy crashes through the forest and right into the gears, taking plenty of them out.
-
While the battle against the mechs raged, the camp was still being assaulted by the extremely heavy artillery. It had been pounded on for the whole fight, and was pretty much a crater at this point.
-
The Serpens start to look for a way out of the death trap of a area, praying at least one ship was still strong enough to destroy the weapons platform pounding them
-
Their encampment was separated from the others, as they had just arrived on the planet. There was no help coming to them. As for the Triumvirate, the day was theirs. Or, at least, on this battle... for the war was far from over.
-
Even though the Serpens lost this battle, they had taken a good deal of Gears and soldiers down with them.... Back at the base.... Phobos reviews the battle, studying every bit of it to figure out how to improve their chances at the next one
-
Once the battlefield had been wiped clean of any trace of serpens, the stealth troops returned to their base, The Core.
