It is NOT a mental issue. It's not "encouraging a mental issue" it's making sure everyone has access to appropriate services.

I think people can use whatever bathroom they want but it is a mental issue.
-
No, in the psychology world it is not considered a mental illness
-
Dude.... it literally is a mental issue. It's called gender dysphoria, and people aren't born with it. Do some research before you believe every liberal news post you see.
-
I did my research. I know what I'm talking about, and have explained it. Gender Dysphoria refers to the depression and anxiety that often accompanies being trans. It does not refer to simply being trans.
-
No one is born transgender. It is a mental disorder. This is literally common knowledge.
-
Look at the DSM-5. Being transgender is not classified as a mental disorder. Know what tf you're talking about.
-
Wow you are dense. A person is born with an XX chromosome or an XY chromosome. That doesnt change. It is literally all in their head.
-
Everyone does have access to appropriate services. Are you dense? The only thing this bill allows is for the further progression of acceptance of a mental disorder. Thinking you're something you're not doesn't make you that thing. If I put on a ray rice jersey and told everyone I'm ray rice that doesn't make me ray rice. Jesus

Editado por Szeth6678: 5/15/2016 5:49:52 PMThere's a distinct difference. You may say you're ray rice, but you still identify as yourself. If you're transgender, that is who you are.
-
No, I identify as Ray rice. I dress like him and really feel like I'm him.
-
Editado por Szeth6678: 5/15/2016 5:50:55 PMThere is still a distinct difference between thinking you are a different person entirely and identifying as a gender other than that you were born with.
-
Please explain.
-
People who are transgender still know who they are. They are not claiming to be someone else, they simply know that they are not the gender they were born with.
-
So me knowing I'm me, but want to identify as Ray rice is the same thing. Im changing a fundamental part of me, but I'm identifying as something else.
-
No. You "want" to identify as ray rice. You were not born identifying as ray rice.
-
You were not born identifying as ray rice.
Basically what you said
-
If you suddenly start identifying as a different person entirely, you either have Dissociative Identity Disorder or are by definition psychotic
-
Editado por Oxide: 5/15/2016 6:30:11 PMNOT EVERY TRANS IS BORN THINKING THEY AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THE GENDER THEY ARE!!
-
No shit :P
-
So why did you say that in order to identify as a another gender and be trans you have to think it from birth
-
I didn't say that you have to from birth, just that many do.
-
You don't know my life. Also, I seriously doubt people are "born" knowing they were meant to be another gender.
-
They really are. Look up and watch a video called "Growing Up Trans" It's very informative
-
Wow, if you really think that BABIES are conscious of gender or even aware of their existence on that sort of level I don't think I can continue a conversation with you.
