Does anyone remember year one winters run nightfall and how hard it was.

It was challenging but not too absurd. Very fun back then and got generally good rewards.
-
That was the easiest year one nightfall. I miss those days of an actually rewarding challenge.
-
Yes sir.
-
No, it was always easy. That was my first solo nightfall. Valus Ta'aruc was easy too, I don't know why people thought these were difficult.
-
I don't remember it as hard. I just ran through the first cave, Sniped from the ship, sparrow ed through the next part, killed the archon from the cliff. Soloed first try almost every time.
-
I'm thinking if you think it was hard, you're the one not remembering it.

Snipe from cover using Ice Breaker. Race past all enemies on sparrow. Snipe form under the platform (then from the cliff) with Ice Breaker. Good times.

This lol
-
Nah it was great...that ledge though.
-
I tried to go up to the sniping ledge. They put a wall there!
-
Yeah, me too
-
That one else was my favorite to solo.
-
Not if u had fatebringer blackhammer and the ghorn ;)
-
Except for the one time you could melt him with 3 fatebringers almost as fast as gjally could
-
Triple burn and small arms. I soloed that nightfall and burned him down in 30 seconds with fang of ir yut.
-
Yes and it was great
-
Yes! I had to use the hiding spots in order to do that nightfall because the freaking archon priest just chases me around the map. I never got a shot in unless I hid and sniped. However it was handy since he would ignore everyone else but me. I haven't done to taken strike yet, I am almost too scared ha ha ha.
-
Soloing that was easier than soloing the taken one
-
Yep, it took me a few tries but once I figured out my spots and tactics, I could solo the original one without much drama.
-
I remember solar burn with gally melting him
-
Any Nightfall with solo burn brings back fond memories of Gally meltage.

Y1 Nexus with Void Burn, before everybody started camping in that upper hallway... That was a summabitch.
-
My team and I camped behind the big column at ground level and wore the boss down with snipers. Took forever. Got my first Truth from that though, so not all bad - although I was thinking 'where were you during the strike, huh?'

You could get like 2 shots off before having to hide due to the crazy splash damage. I remember having to do the Icebreaker special ammo switch a lot because I'd constantly be running out of sniper ammo. Miss those days.

That splash damage would creep around the columns and on Void Burn weeks it could send a team cussing and moaning back to Orbit before you could even figure out what had happened.
