Weekly reminder that SBMM still sucks..
-I'm STILL experiencing 2-5 minute matchmaking times
Not even with a fireteam, I play solo mostly. SBMM has driven most of my friends away, thank you for that.
-I'm STILL experiencing yellow/red bars frequently
Not every match, but close. Latency is always an issue even with green bar games due to being across the world from my opponents. Sweet.
-I'm STILL getting matched against the same people
It blows my mind that I can queue up the WEEKLY playlist, play a match, quit and search again for 4 minutes just to be put in the SAME EXACT lobby only to find out my team is already losing by 5000. That's actually insanity.
-Crucible hasn't been fun, at all
The matchmaking tweaks have done nothing for me. Why do I have to suffer through a miserable experience just because I'm somewhat skilled at the game? I could care less who I play against, this isn't a "I'm upset because I can't pubstomp people" post. It's hard to enjoy a game that I love when I'm getting sniped through walls & meleed from 40 yards away while my bullets don't seem to register half the time.

And I get it, I really do. Average to below average players are enjoying their games because connections are steady and they're getting a fair fight with opponents equal to them. Great. Wonderful. Terrific. Glad things are working for you. I'll be over here suffering through PTSD, regretfully booting up Destiny on my console so that you can enjoy your Crucible time.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the fact that I can't even play pvp with my wife, who has never played an FPS before Destiny. I can't subject her to the same crap that I have to deal with, that's terribly unfair.

Bump. If anyone knows how to do an official change.org petition that might help out our cause. I've tried but don't know how. It also urks me a lot and I'm pretty sure this is intentional match making. If you have a monster game and are on top of your game it seems like match making knows this and puts you into a match of people way above your skill level. If I have a good game I pretty much know that the next one will be ridiculous.

4 RespuestasIf you play rumble, the matchmaking is so skill based that it provides some intense close matches for me. My point is that it is definitely there, but in that game mode it actually works out for the better. However, ONLY in rumble does it benefit this game.

3 RespuestasBeen matched against last rights once, wrecknation twice, 13 devils 3 times, & monsters once & qued again ispeaklogic. All in the last 2 weeks. Now I've been steadily improving these past few months, made it into 41 trueskill, took my hunter's trials kd from 0.6 to 1.4, got to the point where I can land some pretty ridiculous snipes fairly often. But I am by no means on the same level as these guys, I'm way too inconsistent & either go negative or I go double positive in most games. But it seems like the better I get the better my opponents get. I'm also never on the same team as these guys, & it's demoralizing when teammates quit before the game starts because they also recognize the names or quit after they've lost a few gunfights. With me being the guy who doesn't leave games even if I'm playing without teammates against a 3man or 6man I often experience a decent amount of salt. I've noticed this almost always happens after I have a particularly good game as if I need to be brought back down to reality. I just want y1 matchmaking back...

Tonight is the first time my fireteam has not enjoyed crucible. Period. We don't get together with full crucible fireteams very often, mostly just iron banner. But tonight..... Tonight we cursed the whole night and had no fun.

You might fair better matching against friends instead, it would be more fun for your wife, and youd be free to show her the ropes so to speak. With it being more personal and havibg everyone in party chat, this would allow you to teach her all the spots people crowd in etc along with the other basics of pvp. Its a stretch and a pain I agree but still an option

2 RespuestasEveryone complains about SBMM. But I rarely see anyone lagging. I also get in games at the same amount of time is before. I prefer SBMM.

The wait time to find matches is the worst imo. It shouldn't take 3+ minutes to find a match even in the popular playlists. And I do recognize certain players' names just because it insists on putting me in games with the same players all the time. Lag isn't as bad as it was when SBMM first was added, but it's still very prevalent. SBMM has literally ruined Crucible. It feels like more of a chore to play it than something I want to do on my free time.

Here is the main problem I see with SBMM in Destiny in its current state: Matches (trials) are rarely competitive. Typical trials run for me and TONS of people I know goes something like this: -Absolutely crushing 5-6 teams with like NO EFFORT. Even giving away free rounds and shit. These teams are NOT having fun playing us, and it's not fair to them. It's stupid for us too because we're just going through the motions and there is no effort or improvement on our part. -After facing 4-6 the teams that get torn through like wet paper bags, we get super sweaty YouTuber and twitch kids going NUTS on us. We get destroyed, and they get an easy win. After facing so many trash teams, we're totally caught off guard. (We're just average casuals like most of the player base. In skill we think we're in the middle and we never see those other "mid level" teams like us. It's either trash or get thrashed. So my whole point is that this SBMM bs is NOT WORKING AS INTENDED. It sucks and rather than maybe improving PvP, it's made it much much worse. Things were fine with matchmaking as late as March. Just flip the switch and make it stop.

2 RespuestasThe wait times are for the server to mathematically equate the team structure to "rig" your game and in a way, "RNG-ing" your team outcome before the match even starts-- in and effort to feed the grand scheme by Bungie to "balance" win/loss ratios among the community as much as possible for presumably longer play times to increase KD's and bounty achievements and to "obtain" Crucible exclusive loot. (takes a breath) Ya know, cause we asked for hidden cheating in something we all paid money for.

SBMM has no place in a game that has little to no "competitive" support. No private lobbies, no real class balance, no weapon balance. Let this game be casual, make the next one competitive, if you so desire.
