Ok, here's the idea: a training ground (maybe a Crucible map or choice of them) where you could go to test out weapons/perks and builds freely without interference. NO matchmaking. The map(s) have no 'objective', mission requirements, or time limit , just free roam for you and a fireteam of up to 3 where you can test things out or just practice. You can take damage from others (for testing crucible weapons and whatnot) but there is no revive clock, so you can respawn immediately. Upon leaving you get a stat screen telling you how many kills/deaths you got, along with any other usefull stats. Maybe your ghost could even track these stats continuously. Because this is a 'training environment' and can only be occupied by you and your fireteam of three there is no 'true' scoring system that awards points, just the stat tracker. This would prevent the training room from being abused for points/experience/bounties/Kdr, etc...
I feel like having this option in game would make testing out new weapons and comparing perks and builds to one another much easier. And would also provide a space where scores could be settled, as you could go with a friend and 'duel' without others in the way and simply use the stat screen to see who got more kills. While this wouldn't be the true custom matches everyone wants (looking at you bungie...) It would be a potentially fun addidion that would allow certain kinds of custom matches, and allow players to better test and compare their gear without interference. It would also likely be much simpler than building full custom matchmaking into this already substantial game, but would still allow players a space in game to test things out freely and uninterrupted. Many weapon and armor perks in this game are a bit vague in their description, and it can be hard to tell just how much they affect performence. This training room would provide a space for exploring these perks as well as accommodating some un-official matches between friends.
Thoughts?

1 RespuestaSo Nerf fusion rifles?

1 RespuestaPatrol But it sounds like what you want is private matches
-
I'd love to have a shooting range in the tower to try out different weapons without having to go out into the field.
-
Or that can give us -blam!-ing custom matches...
-
2 RespuestasPatrol pretty much is training though. That's where I always test out weapons and armor. They were successful in building training into the game without calling it training.

Signed!

Patrol?

Wouldn't mind a clan obstacle course like in Warframe or something like it

But that would be logical
-
Bump I agree, it's perfect for finding exploits in the map without having to worry about enemy players
-
I'll agree if you throw in a jumping puzzle
-
I've hoped they might add a firing range where you can use maxed out vender weapons or drops before purchase or levelling up. But that's it.

Editado por Bositiv3 (Adept): 5/8/2016 11:30:32 PMDont worry, they will make it ...after the games free on the xbl store
-
To sum this up: free for all patrol
-
As heard over the intercom in the tower: "Attention Hunters: pay no attention to Cayde-6. There are no plans for a firing range in the Tower." Not kidding, it's there (though I may have to exact words incorrect).
-
If we don't get custom games, a training room is a massively close second.
-
I would live a gun range in the tower somewhat like the one in borderlands. that way u could test yiur weapons recoil and damage number before u take it into pvp or or pve

One of the best things Call of Duty games had was private matches with bots. You could use it to practice with different weapons, play privately due to bad connection(s), or play with a few select friends and use bots to pad out the rest of the teams. Sure, there are many other uses, but I guess they're the main ones. One of the best things Resistance 2 had was custom open lobby unranked matches. Games like Core Control could go on for many hours, and a 30v30 TDM would last forever. It was fun, and it didn't matter whether a player was playing the objective or not, it was just fun. It was also great practice vs real players too without having to care. Anyone who played that game knows what I mean, and I have no shame in admitting that I really miss that game. If Destiny had custom matches like the Resistance series (most specifically Resistance 2), and bots like Call of Duty for actual private matches, I would play a lot more. The main reason I continued to play Resistance 2 until the server was shut down was because it had unranked custom games that anyone could join if there was a slot available. Fun. In fact, -blam!- it, I would play a lot more if it just had the unranked custom matches like Resistance 2, the bots would just be a cool bonus. SBMM for ranked games, and whoever vs whoever from wherever in unranked games (I love open lobby custom matches). Obviously bounties and shit that matters would not count in unranked matches, and I am in favor of separate ranked/unranked stats.
