Side (top?) note: If you have an idea that supports what I'm asking for in the original post, or a valid reason why I'm wrong, please do drop a comment. I'll move the main point of the most popular ones (with us or against us) into the body of the original post. Thanks.
The ammo nerf sucks in PvE. This is an absolute fact and the sentiment is shared by the vast majority of players. I know people are going to comment to the contrary, but please understand that the number of people who oppose Destiny's delve into the survival horror genre is large and nearly unanimous. No one asked for it and I absolutely do not buy, for a millisecond, the whole "We want Destiny to be a consistent experience across PvE and PvP modes." This is a lazy cop-out.
Here's the most important part:
There is no reason to nerf anything in PvE.
We are not playing against each other. No one can claim that they are not succeeding at something because of another guardian's guns/gear/abilities in PvE. There was no reason to nerf WP on Gjallarhorn, there was no reason to nerf Black Hammer and there was no reason to nerf the super abilities of every class in PvE. As our characters get stronger, the enemies should as well; don't make us weaker because it's easier than making our adversaries tougher.
Destiny is a shooter. I'm not saying that I want Bungie to copy and implement the collective dogma of the FPS genre verbatim; the places wherein it differs from the mold are what I love the most about this game. But struggling to get to the boss with enough ammo to beat it in a reasonable amount of time robs the game of a lot of its fun and deters players from trying new tactics.
For these two reasons, I think we should either get our old ammo capacities back in PvE only or Bungie should implement the suggestions in the title (reduce/remove ammo synth cool-down and/or let us keep all our ammo when we switch weapons).
Losing ammo on weapon switch is the most infuriating of all. It is so utterly illogical I have no idea how a human mind came up with it in the first place. How do we have all this technology and these amazing abilities but we're too dumb to take the bullets out of a gun before we switch it? Taking our ammo away when we switch from, for example, an arc sword to a solar one, prevents or deters us from playing strategically (e.g., I use the arc sword until we finish with Fallen in Omnigul and then switch to the solar one... and lose at least half of my ammo. My sword ammo... which is a thing, evidently).
TL;DR: Can we please have some blam-ing bullets?
Edit: LordOfSouls95 had some great ideas: "...reduce the special ammo synth cooldown to 3mins (keeping Heavy and primary at 5mins) and also make it so the cooldown is exclusive to the kind of synth you used. In other words the cooldown period only applies to the specific kind of synth you used." [Truncated for space and so I could use the word truncated, which I virtually never get to use].
I know Bungie is not going to read this, but just in case: Thanks for the April update. A lot, if not, all of the changes were direct responses to what we ask for here in the forums and I just wanted to point out that I acknowledge and appreciate that.

27 RespuestasThe reason to nerf weapons in pve is so there are more options. In year one you would only use fatebringer, black hammer, and gjallarhorn. The only reason you didn't use it was because you didn't have it.
