Guardian, you should be ashamed, lol...
I expect posts like this from new guardians, but not from an "experienced" one...
Strikes are meant to be fast paced, you are there to destroy A target, the boss at the end...
Everything else is meant to slow you down...
You should be aiming to keep up with your team, and helping them, not slowing them down to help you...
If strikes are too fast paced for you, you need to go play patrol...
I don't mean to put you down, or degrade you, just to disagree, and enlighten...

Some people like engrams though, and drop rates for them are higher in strike playlists

I'm so over this topic... No offense to you guardian... If anyone is not happy with speed running strikes, and don't like who they are getting matched with, why not go to the recruitment tab, and find some like minded guardians, or when you find players in strikes you get along with friend them... I have 4 kids and a honey do list a mile long, when I play Destiny, I play it to the max, because I don't get a lot of time...

I didn't say I don't speed run strikes, i was just stating a reason some people prefer to go slower

The rewards you get from gaining reputation fast will outweigh anything you will get from killing everything... Especially now that we know more about how 3oC work...

Nope. OP is 100% right, this isn't a running simulator, it's a shooter. If you like running past stuff, join the Olympic running team. 90% of the time people don't make it past anyway, and you're left staring at two ghosts.

If you say so boss, but I guarantee your made up statitistic is 100% false... Even if I killed everything in my path (sometimes I do) I would still be faster than most guardians, because I've ran every strike 100s of times, and learned from every mistake I made... The best thing about doing the repetitive activities in Destiny, is repetition drives you towards perfection...

It's not a statistic, and you just proved mine, and the OPs post. It's just as quick, sometimes quicker, to kill them all, rather than run away, in this SHOOTER. So if the point is to get to the boss ASAP, generally killing everything is the quickest way. Plus, if you're using a booster, there's more chance to get legendaries from ads.

Legendaries that are totally worthless for everyone above 320. If you want to kill everything, be my guest, i'll just wait for you at the end boss with half his health already gone. That is the one that is going to drop me the loot that i'm after.

I'll be the guy sitting down at the boss fight, after I get pulled through when you die. Strikes are going to take a lot longer if all I do is die. Why don't you find a fireteam that don't want to play the game either?

Thats fine and all, but i run lv.36 strikes, so the chances of me dying are non existent. I won't mess with you if you want to kill everything in your way, but don't expect me to be right there with you killing unnecessary ads. Like i said, i will just wait for you at the boss. I can go grab something to eat or see whats on TV or go take a piss while you play the strike "the way is intended". But don't take to long or i will start the boss fight and teleport you there with me. To me any strike that takes more than 12mins. to complete at this point, is just wasted time. I'm a solo player. If it was up to me, i would farm strikes by myself. Since i can't, i just play my way. If you are there with me, fine, if not, its fine too.

All of the strikes can be done in under 12 minutes AND you can kill all the ads in your way. Do what you like though, I play heroics.

Exactly. I'm at the boss way earlier than that because i only kill what is necessary. 12 mins. is basically the time i allow my teammates to kill whatever they want. After that mark, the only thing you will be shooting at, if you're on my team, is the boss. There is no reason for me to play heroics as i can get the same things from lv.36.

Every strike has majors that act as checkpoints, if you only kill those majors and fly through the checkpoints you can average 5-7 minutes per strike... Killing everything will get you an average of 10-15 minutes at best...meaning you can run strikes twice as fast by only killing what you have to... The simple fact of the matter is you can play however you want, its your game, but when you go into matchmaking, you have choices, keep up, get left behind, or back out and find someone more your speed... Strikes are meant to be played fast, that's why they removed the strikes that took too long to complete...

Is it? I don't think you've grasped the concept of a shooter. Maybe Mario vs Sonic at the Olympics would be more your kind of game. Why play a shooter if you're not going to shoot things? Strikes take 10 mins, max, if you know what you're doing. You're also missing sooooo many legendary drops.

A quick look at my stats will show I've shot more things than you... My vault is plum full of legendaries and exotics... The gear you get from gaining reputation fast far outweigh anything you will get from legendary drops in game, and will progress your light faster... This argument is pointless, we all have the right to play however we want... My opinion is just that an opinion, as is yours...
