Hello fellow guardians! I've played TTK launch, and something has always bothered me! In the bridge area on the datalion exodus on the dreadnaught, if you stand outside of the bridge command centre' doors, you can hear a loot chest inside of it. However, there is no possible way known to actually get into this area unless you play the "Outbound Signal" mission. However, when playing this mission, when you finally get to the bridge the chest noise is gone. This has been the case up to today from TTK's launch. However, last week whilst running strikes, I came across Shield Brothers, with a laggy host. Now, when we ran past the bridge to get to the narthex, the doors to the bridge were open, with the chest noise still prompt! I began looking, knowing I only had a limited time to find what it was before my unknown teammates teleported me to the boss fight! The video linked is me finding a sort of container that you could interact with. I interacted with it a good 4/5 times before I 'claimed' what it contained. Unfortunately, When i did finally claim it there was nothing there, which is where the linked recording stops. However, after the recording, the doors to the bridge closed and a lot, and i mean a lot! Of major class cabal started spawning all around me. I thought them for about 30 seconds before being teleported to the boss area (Yeah thanks random teammates :( ) But yeah, I think im onto something here, and would love this to be further investigated! Ive looked into this and seen nothing else about it, so I think im the first to actually get onto something new and still secret in TTK! However, if this has already been addressed and resolved, please let me know about it! :) Thanks all, lets get to solving this mystery! Edit: A lot of new theories and conclusions have been put forward, all of this investigation is incredible! However, There are still a couple or things which need explaining: How i got into the bridge on shield brothers Why I didn't get ammo from the container Why the container took multiple attempts to claim Why major class enemies started spawning and the bridge doors closing on me as soon as I finally claimed it Why does the ghost sometimes say before heading into the narthex on shield brothers "we've lost their signal, maybe we should try the bridge" Also to clarify i joined at the tank fight in the strike and the host of the strike had a red bar connection Guys someone has kindly shared this post on destiny reddit and it is front page on both that and the bungie forums!
