If these awfully similar races would go against eachother, who would turn out victorious?
Scenario :
20 brutes vs 20 cabal.
10 minors, 5 majors and 5 chieftains.
10 legionaire, 5 phalanx and 5 centurions.
Preffered weapons are used, standard issued equipment, depending on the rank of the soldier.
No titled or commanding enemies such as Tartarus or Valus Ta'aurc.
Some information about the brutes :
Their average height stands 259 centimetres – 280 centimetres
Their average weight is 500 kilograms – 680 kilograms whereas cabal weight about 360.
Brutes are extremely powerfull too.
A fully armored spartan II once barely survived a fist fight with one.
Also, in halo : ghosts of onyx a spartan also unloaded an entire mag of an assault rifle into one, without it showing any physical damage, similar to one knocking out half a shield of another spartan, despite being shot point blanck in the face multiple times by a heavy machine gun.

5 chieftains alone are enough lmao

Uhh.. small groups would see Brutes win. Their name says it all, really. They are brutes. Large, but not always the brightest. Granted, they are certainly not stupid. Large scale battles, or anything with more than, say, 50 v 50.. Cabal. Smaller, less effective on their own as compared to Brutes, sure. Thing is, they are highly militaristic and trained. They are sworn to the empire and seem to not even have individualities. It's all about strategy with them. And given their history.. they're just a tad bit much in the large scale.

1 RespuestaI remember reading one of the books when the Spartans first made contact with brutes. I'm pretty sure two Spartans died. One was exploded by a brute shot and the other had a hole punched in the torso. And a spartan would destroy any cabal. So by the ladder of destruction; the brutes would win.

6 RespuestasWhile brutes have the strength and firepower advantage. The mind shall always vanquish the sword. The cabal are very intelligent. A brute would not last long in a fight with valus ta'arc either.

18 RespuestasEditado por Dr_Sorethumb: 5/2/2016 12:16:25 PMBrute vs Psion: Brute. Brute vs Legionary: Brute. Brute vs Phalanx: Brute, if the Brute can steal the Phalanx's shield. Brute Chieftain vs Centurion: Brute Chieftain (both enemies are shielded). Brute Chieftain vs Colossus: not sure. Chieftains have shields but Colossi are physically bigger/tougher/better equipped. Tartarus vs a Val- or Valus- rank commander? Probably the Cabal commander.

20 RespuestasThe brutes don't have the mental capacity to take the cabal, nor too much in the way of loyalty. The brutes are called brutes for a reason.

9 RespuestasBrutes are far too stupid and dumb despite being powerful to win large scale wars. Plus, we have yet to experience the full might of the Cabal Empire. What we have in our system is a mere scouting party.
-
1 RespuestaIn a 1 on 1 the brute takes it, but they are a torn civilization that suffers from infighting. The highly militarized Cabal would easily rout the brutes in all out warfare.
