Imo it's District 9. Avatar was kind of overrated for me.

1 RespuestaI would vote for district 9, but we never see any of that hot alien prostitution. Avatar at least has hot smurf - cat chicks
-
I have seen Avatar but not D9 so I will not vote because I am smart and I know that my opinion on the matter is invalid because I lack the proper data to speak about D9. I wish more people shared this view with me so they would stop hating on things that they have not played, seen, or experienced just because some youtuber said it was bad

2 RespuestasBoth were overrated in my opinion

District 9 had a good story, I'll give it that It did well despite the short comings it had, it nearly being scrapped and all Avatar for me is my preferred movie Great CGI, visuals and the universe make up for the somewhat cliche plot, but overall you've gotta admit it was amazing

Editado por gethyn007: 5/5/2016 11:54:51 PMAvatar was pretty awesome, though maybe a tad cheesy in spots. District 9 was just meh - sorta B-grade, but still interesting. I'd say Avatar is more family-friendly and has more universal appeal, while District 9 is more of a harsh, cult appeal kinda thing. Just two completely different types of sci-fi, so it's hard to compare them.

1 RespuestaDistrict 9 may not have had a budget, special effects, or cinematography on par with Avatar, but it did have superior writing, directing, acting, characters, plot, and themes. It is a modern classic in it's genre. Avatar still deserves credit for its groundbreaking special effects, but District 9 is just the better film.

1 RespuestaJust to be sure, we are talking about the blue aliens and not the shitty-ass film with that malnutritioned Indonesian kid, right?

7 RespuestasAvatar is one of the worse things I've ever had the misfortune to sit through. District 9, however, was lots of fun.

1 RespuestaTechnically speaking Avatar was excellent (seeing it in 3D was worth it) and generally speaking it was good entertainment, James Cameron knows how do to a blockbuster film and his editing techniques has influenced other filmmakers. District 9 was a surprise hit and good overall, despite it being an excuse for Halo not materializing. I like Neil Blomkamp's style, but his latest film has its share of shortcomings.

Avatar was alright, tge effects made up for the story, but District 9 was all around good
