I'm an old man myself and got hooked, while visiting for dinner Thanksgiving (2014), when my nephew handed me the controller. At the beginning, I enjoyed PvE but absolutely hated PvP until this one guy got me to play one day using nothing but the very first gun you get. We had a blast and laughed our butts off. He said its just a game and not take it seriously. So I started playing more PvP, learning by watching other player's technique, load outs, learned from when I got killed by others, learned the maps, watched some streaming, videos, ran a 50ft cable to hard wire my console in my study and most of all I practiced. My wife and daughter used to give me crap about it until we had a discussion on how it is ok for them to be watching all those stupid TV shows full of drama, reading those stupid romance novels, playing Candy Crush, online with Facebook, etc. Then I showed them that young and older females were playing and they chilled out. Playing Destiny is my fun time after dealing with work and all other serious responsibilities during the day. I can understand some of the gripes and complaints (a laggy, buggy game is no fun) but what other game have folks put in hundreds if not thousands of hours in. I'm not getting a paycheck for having the best K/D ratio, being the first to get all weapons, being the best, highest whatever, etc. I enjoy the PlanetDestiny pod casts, watching reviews, reading about the lore and sipping from those cool Destiny pint glasses (they are really cool). It's a game, it's a game, it's a game and until it's not fun anymore, I will continue to play.
