Right now the meta is bullet hoses that require less skill and are more forgiving for missing shots. I don't care for it. I still win some gun fights with DoP that have counter balance and barley pull it off. High rate of fire weapons should not have high stability. In the mean time you do have to pace your shots with a hand cannon to do well. I find the pace of just about waiting for the recoil animation to work well. I understand this is a bit nerve racking when getting showered with a DoP. Also when engaging a DoP user you want to break up their fire, such as taking cover. This will help by limiting how much persistence procs for them.

People are using 'bullet hoses' because auto rifles are finally a viable option in the Crucible again. They were a joke for anything but a target right in front of you for a long time

Yes they had been nerfed hard in the past. They were the only option to be competitive when destiny first dropped. I do feel that it the easiest type of weapon to use and therfore should not have an advantage over a weapon that requires more skill. If hand cannons didn't have the range nerf with phantom bullets I think it would be more balanced between ARs and HCs. This would eat away at the area where pulse rifles and scout rifles are supposed to excel at, thus creating another unbalance. So I do feel that auto rifles should have a stability nerf. Thus they could still melt in close range but would be at a greater disadvantage in longer range.

i agree with you and i'll propose a fix for it, how about we remove braced frame from all high RoF -doctorine archetype- auto rifles and see how that goes; it should fix the insane range thing and still keeep them really viable in cqc right?

I think that would work and have also proposed the same thing in other threads.

I agree that if hand cannons didn't have the phantom bullets it would be fine. You can win against a DoP but if you get one phantom bullet, you're screwed.
