So I am hated for a choice I made 2 years ago based on aesthetics?
I sort of don't like how "warlock" is used as an insult now-a-days. Yes I play warlock. And no I am not particularly good at pvp. But I like using my warlock. I find them aesthetically pleasing. Sure I understand that some aspects of the class are not wholly balanced. *cough* Firebolts *cough* but its like the people in the community just hate anyone who even plays a warlock. Like seriously!? I can't play a class now without getting insulted even though i chose to play it a long time ago? I just want people to be a little more civil is what I am saying. I know this post is not very critically constructive. But if people become a little more civil and empathetic this forum could become so much better and less toxic. Don't call someone out for their choice in class. If you want it balanced then point out the flaw instead of insulting everyone who plays it. I have seen 8 year olds make more valid and civil arguments. Also people always talk trash about the warlock jump. I personally like it quite a bit. Its very precise if you get good at it. Just because you prefer something else doesn't mean a particular thing is bad. I don't like double jump much but i refrain from calling it trash for no reason other than my subjective opinion. I would like some input from community here. Why do people hate the player instead of trying to fix the problem. And I have always played a warlock. I did not switch because of the meta.
p.s. Sorry if I was all over the place. I visit the forums in my pastime. But it grates my nerves when people just generalize and call each other names.
Edit: I know it seems like I am just ranting about people being jerks to Warlocks, but to be honest I am more peeved about the underlying issue, which is the amount of incoherence, ignorance, and lack of civility in the community.

You're hated because all of your subclasses are good in everything. Hunters have arc blade which is completely useless. Titans have sun breaker which is ok but still bad. You don't have a bad subclass (which is bungies fault for nerfing the other two) so people blame you and you get h8

There are just some people who don't play for fun. They play for personal achievement or some other self-gratifying psychological reason. There are people within those ranks that take it personally when they do bad. There are those within THOSE ranks that use any reason they can to scapegoat another person to make themselves less accountable or responsible for their enjoyment. It's all about what and how much you have invested in something, and what you subconsciously believe that thing is doing to give you purpose. All this being said, it's just a game people. Why make it out to be more important than it is? I love Destiny and play it often but I'm not going to define myself by it or let anyone else playing affect my life or personality in or outside the game. Take a break from the hate, and find joy in things that are fun, but don't give those things the ability to make or break your day. #WarlocksRockOn #TitansRockOn #HuntersRockOn #GuardiansRockOn

It shouldn't bother you if you arent like that. Unless you fit the stereotype, and get angry because of it. I take my warlock void Walker with blink into the raid. Run gaze and the relic. People always ask me back on. Ive also run my striker Titan and have said "not switching to defender" still, I run the gaze/relic and people again ask me to help them through the raid. I've done it all with all three classes. If you have a stick up your ass people will hate you, of you just play, help out, and don't hold your team back then people will love you. I've had people say "I hate warlocks" Then turn around say "dude, cry is a nasty warlock, he'll help us to the lighthouse" You are who you want to be. I don't main anything. I love my warlocks/hunter/Titan and switch between them regularly.

You have 3 different characters at least....yes you "main" a warlock but you've at least tried the other classes. You're much better than anyone with 3 hunters/titans/warlocks. They only get to play 1/3 of the game as far as I'm concerned. Play your warlock. Kill with your warlock. Have fun with your warlock. Its what this game is about anyway....right??

Let me break it down for you. At least 80-90% of the player base uses 1-2 classes. At least half of that is two of the same class. On top of that, those that do use different classes, use the same load-out with minor changes. So in the end there is little to no diversity. So now, a player who says "Hey wait a minute, if I change this and this then now I can play like this!" comes around and suddenly it's the wrong way to play because the other little stale idiots who never change up their gaming style think they know better. Truth is, [i]diversify[/i]. They only bash on you because they play one class. You like Warlocks? Then enjoy them, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I have to put up with a constant stream of "nerf shoulder charge" and "Fist of Panic".
