The intercoms receive and play a transmission.
"Can you hear me joker? Follow my trajectory and keep the frequency on your comms low, we don't need to be alerting the whole planet something is going on in the middle of nowhere"
English
-
"I pray that my name to you isn't joker from now on; otherwise I'm gonna call you melon soda." Ian turns a dial or two on his dash. "and yeah, I've got it."
-
"Joker and Melon Soda, sounds like the ultimate duo if you ask me. Maybe if we do enough jobs rumors of the feats of Joker and Melon Soda will spread far and wide" She laughs. "Anyway, as mentioned we'll be meeting the sheriff of a sad little town for this transaction, we'll land 20 miles away from said town in the middle of nowhere, they'll pay, load their water and we both go our merry way. Easy peasy lemon squeasy. Just be nice to these folks, and watch out for the cloud tracer"
-
"Cloud tracer?" Ian asks over the comms, his eyebrows raised. He pulls out a quarter from his pocket and starts flipping it end over end, catching it, and repeating the process. A bored habit. Or nervous habit, depending.
-
"Aye, The Cloud Tracer!" She says over the comms, as if announcing the name of a film. "You see, even since the sun in this system has been acting up, Jaxen suffered the most off all the planets. The newly raised heat seeped virtually 3/5's of the water that was present about three decades ago, it was around that time the residents of the planet itself felt the effects, and got desperate. Lo and behold, the most desperate of times has it's way of bringing out the worst of people, and cutthroat bands of bandits formed and grew at alarming rate. That type of activity dies down as the planet began to receive external aid, but some never left the old ways, and continue to this day to pillage and ransack what they need. Among them is a former pilot who fought many conflicts before, although no one can quite agree who he fought for, or against. All they know is that he flies these skies, hiding in the clouds and striking in the least expected of times. That's why pilots on this rock typically avoid cloudy patches of sky, lest the Cloud Tracer springs on them"
-
"Ok. Cloud mystery man who may or may not fight for the good guys. Good to know." Ian says, rolling his eyes.
-
"You know what they say about legends, sometimes they're based off fact. Anywho, we're landing now" Her own ships lands in a flat open space in the dried dirt below, sand and other debris blows away from the space directly below and her craft lowers and lands on the dirt. "Houston we have landed"
-
Editado por Will: 4/26/2016 2:53:16 AM Ian lands his ship next to hers easily, lowering the ramp on his, walking down and stepping out.
-
Warm climate, and a bright sun to correspond with it shines overhead, it's about midday in this part of the world guessing from the angle. The space was mostly dried hard dirt with the occasional shrub in the distance, in the far distances some mountains are observable. "Oi!" Eleifs voice shouts in the distance. "They'll be here in an estimated two minutes" She informs. She drops a large green duffle bag and begins to pulls out components and pieces to a a machine.
-
Ian raises a questioning eyebrow at her, walking back into his ship and returning with a bottle of water for himself, and offering one to Elief. "Or do you only drink melon soda?" He says with a grin.
-
She takes the bottle and scoffs with a smile. "If you have that I would prefer it actually" She finished setting up what looks like a small antenna connected to a laptop, she turns a few knobs and dials on the antenna and stands back. In the distance a cloud of sand and dust get closer, the revving of engines becomes clearer. "Go greet our dealers, I need to make sure this is working properly"
-
Ian reaches into his hoodie pocket and tosses her an orange and green can with a wink; before placing his hands in his hoodie and walking at a steady pace out to where the people were making their way towards them.
-
A dirtbike is the first to appear and stop in the clearing, followed by two more. In the distance two trucks and a massive eighteen wheeler cargo vehicle close in and stop. One of the bike riders removes his helmet removes his helmet and gives his head quick shake, loosening his hair. "You're with Red Zhackie?"
-
"That would be us." Ian says, running a hand through his hair and throwing his hoodie's hood on.
-
"Good" He replies as he unshoulders a bag and hands it to you, the other two bikers replicate his actions with similar bags of their own. In he distance the vehicles slowly roll closer to the ships as men in them exit the vehicle with various types of firearms in their hands. They spread out and around the setting in a rush, some looking anxious, panicked even. "Whole payment as agreed, Sheriff will want to speak with you lot though. You have the forgeries right?"
-
Ian certainly didn't have them; so he assumed Elief did. He throws a thumb over his shoulder towards Elief. "She does."
-
A man emerges from one of the trucks as more men exit and begin to load their merchendise. The man approaches Eleif, he looks different from the rest with a cleaner suit and an aged face shadowed by a gambler hat. "You the breaker?" he asks in a ruffled voice "That's me" she grins She reaches into the bag and pulls out several envelopes tied together with a band. "That what you need aye?" he nods and receives the stack. "Your partner has already been payed, give us about 20 minutes to load the merch" He says as he runs his fingers through the stack.
-
Ian nods and hands one of the bags to Elief, pulling out a stick of gum and popping it in his mouth. "That wasn't too bad."
-
"And hopefully they will continue to stay not too bad" She responds as she takes a sip of her can and keeps a wary on the screen.
-
"And what are we looking at here?" He says, looking over her shoulder and sipping from his water.
-
"Proximity eye, anything approaches us we should be able to see it miles away, as tiny dots. And listen in on any frequencies too. Pretty cool no?"
-
"Mmhm. And are we watching for anyone particular, say, a guy who's favorite hang out is the clouds?" Ian says, raising his eyebrows.
-
She chuckles. "I wasn't entirely kidding you know? Bandits still run in these sands, look at them. The Sky Tracer is an urban myth but Sand Bandits are very real" She says referring to the sentry guards, each one had one pair of binoculars and looked in all directions away towards the distance. "And another thing, this only works for the ground, anything that travels in the sky is usually too fast and too high to be picked up here"
-
He shrugs. "Bandits aren't too bad. You're a good pilot, how are you with a blade?"
-
"I'm sure a detour would be fine, long as we bring something back with us. Let me tell you, Sandspringer meat on this planet, amazing"
-
He shrugs. "You know your way around here. I'll follow." He says with a smile.
